Looked more physical too. He's a big lad and looked like he is learning to use that bulk better.

He was great when he came on, was everywhere, covering the centre backs, mopping up, taking the ball off Bentley, linked play. He and or Watkins must start,

He certainly looked fine in the playmaker position, he needs a forward line that actually works, though!

I must say it is quite refreshing to read that the overall opinion of just how good Sawyers is is a bit more unanimous now.

I've really noticed this too when watching the pre season games. He's definitely being more physical and holding off challenges better.

I think he and McEachran are playing for that playmaker role in front of Mokotjo.

Sawyers is an attacking midfielder, a number 10. Not a holding player

Sawyers will be competing with Watkins and Nico

Now we have Watkins, it looks like the coaching staff are wanting him to play deeper. He's a hopeless number 10 as he doesn't get into the box enough, although, again, the coaching staff are encouraging him to do that and shoot at goal.

    He definitely sat deeper yesterday.

Maybe he is developing an alternative Midfield role

And was very effective doing so.

It would be interesting to see how well he works with Mokotjo. Maybe find out Tuesday?

He's ready to perform at this level now. Another good showing. Deserved a goal too.

    Superb tonight

  18. Amazing work linking play, creating chances and being a bit of a presence. Deserved at least one, possibly two goals.

he's got a lethal right foot. Right behind that one in the first half, awesome connection. A joy to watch too. Played well again tonight

  21. Very very good tonight, he can hit a ball too! A good outlet for the defensively players and seems to be using his physicality more.

I'm pleased he's shooting. The defenders who are blocking probably aren't.

    Was superb tonight.

  28. Played very very... ok... just kidding very pleasing performance alongside his cameo Saturday, taking shots with that cannon of a right foot, can afford to tighten up his touch and interplay though, other than that another strong performance and would be MOTM contender if Ollie wasn't 9/10 today.

Looks our most improved player. Thought he was mom at Wimbledon and excellant again tonight. With the nrw signings I thought he would struggle to hold a place but would be one of my first names on the teamsheet at the moment.

He looked a leader as well. I know I've been banging on but the criticism last year was utterly self defeating and clearly made him a tentative player. I hope that is behind us now and we can just enjoy watching him play.
