    Ok,so...

Just after half time,I was in Braemar Road forecourt having a chat with a Forest fan,a serving member of the armed forces no less, about the game.(let's not even deal with the issue of why there were Forest fans in the home ends for now).

We were at this point approached by a steward who told us to get back past the yellow line as we were both smoking.

I looked down and I was literally standing on a faded yellow line that was barely visible, and took a step back as I was told.

Here is where the issue occurred.

I hold my hands up and admit I made a comment to the Forest fan about the steward being a jobsworth. No swearing, just jobsworth.

At this the steward got rather irate and asked me to repeat what I said, which I sort of laughed off.

He then ran off for back up and flat out lied to his manager, saying I had sworn at him and hey presto,5 guys that were all twice the size of me turned up to escort me out of the ground.my ticket was confiscated and my name taken.

At this point, jobsworth grabbed my arm and and tried to twist it behind my back.I advised the other stewards that he had better take his hands off me and walked out of the ground as requested.

Outside I had a conversation with his manager, who to be fair was a decent bloke who was only going on the lies he was told by jobsworth.

At this point, jobsworth admitted that I had not sworn at him at all,but this did no good and I was simply told to contact the club if I had a complaint.

I must stress, the other stewards were polite and were only acting on the lies that were told by jobsworth, which they had to believe at first I suppose.

Met the forest fan in the pub afterwards and he gave me his phone number and has vowed to be a witness for me,should it be required.

All in all,a shit day made even worse by someone who has no issue blatantly lying to his superiors because he felt slighted.

Obviously I admit I should not have called him a jobsworth, but if you are so thin skinned and willing to lie to your boss over such a trivial matter,is stewarding really the job for you.

My first game for a year and no doubt a ban coming my way as I am sure jobsworth is busy cooking up a story with his mates as we speak.

Sounds like the perfect definition of a jobsworth. If he admitted that you didnt swear to his manager then why did his manager not just let you back in and call it a misunderstanding??? Manager equally at fault here in my eyes... You dont have to blindly support staff when they have clearly made a bad decision...

This is what will happen. Everyone in a similar scenario always say the manager or head of security were nice, but your still getting kicked out and soon will be receiving the behaviour letter that in no uncertain terms, has to be signed

Email your story to Cliff Crown. He will probably congratulate you and invite you out for lunch.

On a serious note, when you hear of this and also of Forest fans in the home end openly celebrating their goals, it's clear that some at the club forget how important our fans are.

They are in for a shock because I won't be signing anything.

What happens when jobsworth are given to much power and want to feel more important in their minimum wage job The managers should be leading by example and dealing with these trivial matters there abd then not allowing it to esculate as Herbert outlines.

  17. My 15 year old son got left behind me today as we were going through the New Road turnstiles.
(Where the stewarding was quite OTT and far more intimidating than in any other season).

As I turned round to look for him he was having his bag searched, and then was patted down by a steward.
Before I complain about this, can anybody please confirm that they aren't allowed to lay their hands on minors, at least without parental supervision?

Dont believe they are allowed to put hands inside bags either if you dont allow them to.

    So be it.

I'll go to away games and watch Brighton (my local team) instead.

This is really disappointing to hear that problems like this continue. Personally, I would ask for a copy of CCTV to support you. Their was a heavy security presence there today, but there were still a few Forrest fans in B305.

Sadly. I don't think they give a shit about losing long term Bees fans. You know, now that we are a super massive club with an endless fanbase

AWAY FANS IN THE HOME END ARE NOT AN ISSUE TO OUR STEWARDS OR POLICE

Which is shocking, although in this case may be a good thing seeing as Lostbee's witness was an away fan in the home end.

Arseholes mate. Irony being on the day that bees66 a steward that cared and would sort shit out got clapped off. Hate jobsworth lying barstards like that. And one day they lie to wrong person and them and their boss get a pasting because of the lies
