Fixture list announcement doesn’t have the same magic for me this time. Usually it’s straight to the calendar to work out which away games I can get to. This season......none for the foreseeable future.
Strange feeling seeing the fixtures, no huge teams in the league this year, early chance to get the frustrations of points dropped at Millwall and Luton last season avenged, six midweek games before Christmas ( so hoping we're allowed in for the Swansea, Norwich and Derby games floodlit games), Cardiff on boxing day suits me here in South wales, not many games before transfer deadline when I suspect we'll have a couple of players still in the shop window, no one to fear and hoping by delaying Arsenal at home for a year we'll be in even better shape.
I genuinely don’t think we can look too much into a potentially tough run in this season.... it will be the most unpredictable on record. Expect more than 1 team getting a points deduction, the previous “big spenders” such as Bristol City, Derby etc might cut back this year, Watford are a totally unknown force, Bournemouth could potentially “do a Huddersfield” and struggle, Norwich will lose a lot of players and rely on their excellent recruitment.
I know it would be great to be in The Prem but I love the unpredictability of this league.
Yeah that's not an easy start IMO....quite an ugly first few fixtures. Three teams who like to frustrate us to kick us off along with Preston who may try to do the same. We had a friendlier list on the whole last season.
