I don't get this either - I thought he was a great keeper and seemed a decent bloke - what's the story?

I thought he was a distinctly average keeper, who had one great game (at Cambridge in the title-decider in 1999) and a man with no sense of humour.

I was really excited when we signed him given his great spell at Northampton but he really disappointed me.

Poor on crosses, slow to come out at peoples' feet, poor kicking and as has been said, one fantastic match at Cambridge but overall very disappointing.

I can see why Pardew wanted him then.

And a Fulscum fan.

mmm, not too much going for him.

In this era of exciting new football books, didn't he and gareth southgate write a distinctly boring one together along the lines of 'we started as kids together at palace, one of us went on to play for england, the other one became a sh*t lower leaguer who had one decent game in cambridgeshire'. Didn't quite make the bestseller charts.

I take it this means Wally wont be leaving the Hammers then like Avram feared he would. Bet Avram is relieved about that.

His son playing for England U-17.
Well done, a proud moment for any father to see his son excelling in sport.

He once told me that AS went for an interview at Charlton, he watched him enter and leave, I had great delight in telling people at the club but I think they thought I was making it up, I hoped it would get the useless dick sacked.

Couldn't find a Keith Millen thread but Keith and Andy Woodman have left Palace and been replaced by Sammy Lee. Always wondered if 'You'll Never Beat' KM would end up back here one day.Anyway good luck for the future and here's hoping palace get relegated.

Shame as he has been a very loyal servant to Palace and stepped in several times when needed.

No Millen thread so I'll say this here, he went down in my estimation a couple of years back when I was leaving after a friendly against Palace and saw that he didn't acknowledge anyone trying to speak to him, ignored everyone wouldn't sign autographs/have photos for people waiting to see him. No need to behave like that in the modern game.

Blimey, he's changed a bit. He used to look like a primary school headteacher when he played for us.
