What’s been clear this season is that our speed of transition is just not there. We used move from defence to attack quickly, go through the gears at speed. It’s just not happening at the moment, we seem to take an age to get forward.

Wtf has political correctness got to do with anything? Some people didn't enjoy it because it took away from watching the game but PC, where on Earth has that come from.
I wasn’t sure if critical posters were being pompous ( in a sporting way) or PC,so offered both as possibilities. What did you think ?

I think people want to focus on the game and not be distracted by irrelevant chatter. I'm pretty sure that was the complaint, nothing against Evans or Cockram, just a time and place thing

Point of order - why have we got frantic match discussion going on in two parallel threads, is one not enough?

Agree with a lot of that. However I do think 2-3 of the players you are writing off are much better than you think, Ghoddos will be quality, Goode will be perfectly OK. Canos I agree should not be in the team or the first sub, EM really hasn’t shown more than glimpses of his ability.

The issue is that we can’t deal with the high press, look how sh*t all out good players were at Wembley etc,
Yep. I get a feeling Ghoddos will be quality eventually. Probably not in time for us to make an impact this season. Occasional glimpses of sublime passing. Just going to take a bit of time to get up to speed. Probably sell him for £30m in a couple of years. Goode, not so sure, Canos and Marcondes, League One.

Canos and Marcondes don't make any contribution to the team and Goode is way out of his depth. Another 2 points lost down to Thomas Frank's team selection.
Are you for real.... who should TF have selected; please don’t name players who are injured.

Don't play well and gain a point = positive.

We won't play well every game, especially against the good teams (which Swansea look to be). So to get a point is a positive. Move on to Boro and a very different test. An ok start to the season, and a couple of wins could shoot us up there. Onto the next.

Because we've been sussed.

Seems that we are taking a different approach this season where we are not looking to dominate possession.
Today demonstrated when Norgaard not available janelt should start and that gives two of our best players Jensen and da Silva the protection to dictate play and they are probably best two midfielders in division. If can find a way of Forss Toney and Mbeumo playing together then with Rico overlapping on left we will be a very difficult team for any championship side to compete against.

Must admit I'm bored of COVID football. I'm bored of the same old comments on here and Twitter. We've suffered too many injuries and sent too many out on loan to make a real
Impact at the moment. The prospect of not getting into LR any time soon makes everything seem worse. Tonight summed it all up. A half decent point which is another one onwards 50. I'm sure people will tell me to get stuffed but just the way I feel.

Terrible commentary, no understanding of how we play or modern football in general. I hope they never get invited back.

Also how many times does Mark Burridge say 'great pass there' when the ball has gone straight to the opposition.
How many in jokes were there? Marcus get the tea for the skipper, how many times did Terry Evans call Pinnock Neil Kinnock? It was cringeworthy. I like Mark Burridge but he’s seeming a bit old hat lately

It's not that we didn't play well. It's that we were outplayed by a better team. Again. ;)
Nailed on in 17 words, we were awful tonight an it is not just a blip. how on earth can people keep coming on here saying how good we are. Say it as you see it , i must be watching something different to a lot of you. Back to basics because we have forgotten how to pass the ball.

Canos is simply too indisciplined to bring on when you are trying to see a game out but still has lots to offer as a starter, as was clear on Saturday.

Yes, we don't look as strong a team as last year on the whole. The balance isn't quite right. Although Norgaard and Jansson may change that.

We're sort of over reliant on Toney at the moment, so if we can keep in touch while learning to play well as a team we'll be in a good position.

Was it Alan Shearer that came out with that "Shirley Temple" quote? Or was it about him? Either way, League One. He'd be great at Portsmouth or somewhere. :sorted:

I thought we looked lethargic. Saying that I thought Swansea weren't a bad side and will be up there at the end of the season. A point gained.
