This has to be the most nerve-wracking way to follow the progress of a football match.

I was worried about Rico for a second there.

Even Marky being made to apologise for swearing on the pitch. What is it coming to?

Bit of a crappy game but three points and a clean sheet will do very nicely. I think Ivan Toney may have been correct to think he was ready for the Premier League

Another awful watch quality wise, Cov must be relegation faves on that showing. We did what we needed to, a 6.5/10 kinda performance.

Good result just what we needed. Fantastic first 20 mins first half and then Cov grew into it. Great start second half pretty much killed the game but fair play to Coventry they stuck at it and looked a good side second half. Def won't be whipping boys. We lost our shape a bit when Toney and Marcondes went off but defended well and saw it out. Jensen MOM with good performances from JDS, Marcondes, Toney and the back four.. Raya made a big difference today.. Great save at the end.. Finally, REALLY like the look of Janelt! He's got a hell of a left foot, looks a beast but can really play. Great range of passing and looks reasonably quick too. Stepped up to move into space a couple of times.. Looks like we might have picked another one out!!! :sorted:

You think so? Was quite impressed with them particularly second half. Moved the ball quickly, created space and caused us a lot of problems in the last 15.. Would have been v worried if we'd let one in.

Not that much of a test for the ref, but he was very steady nonetheless.

Needed a win and got one. We will face much more difficult games than this and be put under much more pressure.
Despite a stuttering start in the league, we are only 6 pts off the top, thanks to Barnsley's injury time equaliser.

Hope Toney is fit quickly - is going to be key for us in matches where we need to take chances.

Probably should have put the game to bed in the first half.. but we deserved the win.. clean sheet as well. We look a much better team with Rico and Raya. Toney excellent.. 5 league goals so far.. Jensen MOTM.. Da Silva also very good and the complete midfielder.. defence looked a little dodgy at the end but we were worthy winners. Bryan a little of the pace as was Canos who looks like hes behind the play - Fosu to start away next weekend imo

Awful? Really? Not us at our best, sure - but we did some good things and repeatedly looked dangerous particularly first half.

Played well in the first half an hour or so in each half, but then let Coventry back in it, although to be fair in the second half the game game was as good as won.

Picked up a few knocks today, hopefully the substitutions were with the two tough games in mind coming up.

Vitaly looked the business in his short cameo.
Jensen was impressive in the holding role.
I hope we can get in to watch it for real soon.

He thought Benrahma might be on the bench for us today...

Great start to both halves and we finally took some chances. There were better signs from Canos and Mbeumo and we coped without a real defensive midfielder with all three looking decent. Janelt fitted in really well and if Marcondes is not fit then I would risk starting him on Wednesday at Wednesday!

Raya and Henry really improved us and the back four creaked a bit but was far more secure than last time out.

Toney is just the biz in front of goal, cool and clinical.

We are picking up far too many niggly injuries though but hopefully our luck will turn.

Today was simply about getting 3 points and keeping a clean sheet and we achieved both and were in total control apart from the last 15 minutes of both halves particularly after we were a bit disorganised after making our substitutions.

good first 25 and should have been 3 up......2nd half we werent as good but we got a proper centre forward in toney who knows how to finish.......mom was rico with jds just behind......jensen was much better but it was against poor opposition so im looking at him in the next 2 games to prove he can play against physical stronger teams like sheff weds and stoke,.......mbeumo looks like a bloke gone missing.,......what the feck has happened to him ? canos tried. decent few passes but still not what we need if we are to progress.......pontus looked a lot happier and raya looked decent in goal,,,,,,,,marcondes is still a worry.....against one of the worst midfields weve seen so far he still doesnt look the part.....thank god rico was back and dalsgaard looked better for it too..........we need to improve in the next 2 games to get anything out of them and coventry will defo be in bottom 6 this season.......its a vital win but it wasnt great

Marky should apologise for his attempt to pronounce "McFadzean". He had three different attempts that I heard, and I'd wager they were all wrong!

Apart from that he was very good, incl some nice banter with Andy and Marcus. (y)

Mainly fair, but harsh on Bryan who is far off his best but still having a positive impact on outcomes. You are a bee so I suppose you can be excused for finding them in your bonnet. ;)

Yes, he was definitely having trouble keeping the z and the d in the right order. That aside, he's my favourite commentator in the country. Brings everything to life and gets the best out of his co-commentators by making them feel good about themselves in his modest, self-effacing way.
