50 years ago today!
I was too young to go to away games but coincidentally my family and I were in Cardiff for my grandfather's 80th birthday party.
My father and I skipped the party for the big game, but did catch the end of it, double celebration. Famous win because we were in the old 4th division and they were top of the 2nd; in those days, clubs didn't rest players for the FA Cup so John Toshack played for them.

What a brilliant read.:sorted:
I sometimes feel that I missed out when I read this sort of stuff, I wasn't anywhere near old enough to remember much about the early 70s and my away started in the bad old 80s when IMO the humour had completely gone and it was just pure hatred at grounds.
And we loved it, lots of hate in the 70’s with Reading, Southend, Watford and even Bournemouth don’t worry

Ah happy days of special trains from Ealing Broadway.
I remember it was a long walk from Cardiff station in the pissing rain and an even longer walk back trying to stay in one piece.
Cardiff fans were being taken out of the ground throughout the whole match it seemed, the match would have been postponed today the pitch was that bad.
When we made it back and got on the train i'am sure the Brentford team turned up to travel back on one of the trains as well.
