"It was only a few days ago when I thought Brentford must have put a smile on his face by reaching the League Cup semi-finals.

He loved the Bees and although he may not have admitted it, he had a soft spot for West Ham and rightly so given the years he covered the club for Archant’s London titles."

RIP Dave!

Just want to say thanks for all your comments regarding my brother Davids passing.since his first visit to Griffin Park in early 1972 at a very young age he was a regular visitor home and away for many years. He became an award winning journalist in sport on local newspapers for 30 years or more but whenever his featured teams weren't playing he would be straight to Brentford or wherever they were playing he will be sadly missed but never forgotten. Thanks again.

Hi Terrana
I am so sorry for you're sad loss and hope you are all coping. I hope you dont mind me asking if Dave was a regular away traveller during the Bill Dogin era and also if you went to Northolt high school at the same time ?

Yes thats correct I was at Northolt high until 1976 and Dave was 6 years younger than myself and yes we did travel everywhere during that period and indeed for many years after.

Many thanks for your reply, I think you were both responsible for improving my collection of away programs from my time at school... RIP Dave..
