Oh God no!
More ridiculous lists of positions we need replacements or back ups for whilst providing completely unjustified assassination of existing players.
Yup. Pretty sure Phil said he didn't expect much/any January activity. So who are these people wanting this thread started 'by popular demand'?

I suspect a few more B team signings in midefield and right back and possibly goal, with Hammer and Stevens spending significantly more time with first team squad

Well we won’t go up with Ghoddos, Mbeumo, Canos and Fosu as our attacking options with Toney......just my view of course

Think we only need one signings, Mads should be back to challenge Henrik. CN will make the midfield very strong. So for me we only need a left winger. Canos can cover in his better position on the Right Wing. L

The challenge of a January signing is that they are very seldom able to contribute anything significant before the end of the season. Oven ready players who can affect a game positively are both expensive and rare.

The most likely signings are players in the in-betweener category that can be brought though the B-Team and assessed for the first team next season.

As Mr Magic points out, if we get a good result on injury recoveries with a full squad to pick from, it's only the left attacking position that may remain questionable, although, personally, I'd like to see another right-footed centre back.

I think Ghoddos will prove his worth, he just needs a little time to adjust. He's shown he's got the intelligence and ability, it's just fitness and that understanding with the rest of the side that's lacking. Trouble with playing so many games a week is you just don't get time to work on that side of things so you're having to work it out in matches. It'll come though..

Keeping Ivan Toney....That's going to be difficult if a £50 million bid comes in

We'll likely have Roerslev, Sorenson, Norgaard and Pontus back by January, which gives us a pretty solid base
Bannan and Bright Osayi Samuel from RaRas in January please
Samuel seems to me another in the Canos/Fosu mould, nowhere near the class of Benhrama of Eze..

Robin hack didn't leave Nuremburg in the end and they are currently having a very average season, 15th in Bundelsiga 2. A renewed effort to sign him maybe?
Great, Les, the first sensible suggestion! Get him in...

Sod him. He didn't want to come here last month. Better off without him. Only want players to die for BFC, blah, blah, blah. :fishing:

Samuel gave Henry a tough time at gp last season and would fit in well imho

Yeah I would like Samuel, he also fits the bill of not fulfilling his potential which is something we could work on and I also believe that in a better team he would also perform a lot better. He has pace in abundance and just needs some decent coaching

As long as it takes, he is on a 3 year deal (taking the first year loan for what it is in reality).

We could just send him home for three years because he hasn't pulled up trees in his first 2-3 games.

How’s he playing though? If he’s doing a regular 90mins and his personal contribution is good, a good move and he should be ready to step right in. If he’s personally not performing great or is mainly on the bench, may still be worthwhile but with the expectation of not being fully match ready this season.

Its been mentioned elsewhere that with hindsight we maybe loaned out too many players, what recall options do we have in January and who might we bring back assuming we can?

Ooooo, I know!!

Saïd!!! Let’s bring him back. 😐

Dervisoglu and Zamburek would add to the squad. None of those who we loaned out would be first team starters. Only the two names would be squad players in the 18 or 20

I should have included a caveat "apart from loaned with an obligation to buy". The two players you mention were the two I was thinking of and maybe Valencia although that looked to be more of a move towards the exit door.

The Crewe full backs Perry Ng and Harry Pickering would both be good signings IMO as immediate competition/back up and long term successors to our current pair.

I dont agree with bringing back loan players, I think in the long run it will benefit our club a lot more. You just have to look at Marcus as Mads this season to see their improvement. They would only be squad players and hopefully Jensson, CN nd Mads R should be back to fitness.

How’s he playing though?
Played in all 6 of Nuernberg's games so far, racking up 478 minutes. 1 goal (they've scored 9); 1 assist; 1 yellow card; impressive 86.1% pass success; 1.5 shots per game; 1.3 key passes per game; 3.5 miscontrolled per game (that's high).

Didn't both of them miss half of their loans with injury, Sorensen 9 app, Forss 18? Maybe a purpose of this seasons loans was to keep the likes of Halil and Zamburek match fit and learning, with the option to bring them back and strengthen the squad depth for the second half of the season. A cheaper option than splurging a load more money on new signings, in these uncertain times.

replacement for benrahma as ghoddos not the answer as he look more like a number 10 not a goal scoring left winger inside forward and a decent centre half as pontus always getting injured

If someone comes in with an offer for Marcondes I suspect he will be allowed go. Possibly Fosu may be allowed to go on loan. We may see Adams promoted from B team

Can't see us signing much barring a long term injury - we have 2 players for every position now. Unfortunately can sign a lot of PL interest in Toney from desperate clubs trying to avoid the drop especially if he gets to 15 by Jan

I agree and also there seems to be some real talent in the B team who might well be able to step up if we need them to.

I can't see any situation when we will sell any of our star players in January even if big bids come in. Toney owes us a year at least.

Agree, except for a left winger. I think that is the only area we need somebody.

Wa will say Toney is not for sale. Only silly money would make us think and mid to lower PL clubs won't be paying £40m.

Desperate for some creativity. Pontus and Christian coming back from injury will make us more solid, but we’re creating nothing. Toney has 10 goals feeding off scraps. Imagine if we were actually giving him 3 or 4 chances per game.

Need some pace in the wide positions. Replacing Canos and Fosu is our priority for January
