This does all seem rather speeded up, about a tenth of the usual time to develop a vaccine if it is being delivered by February. There are lots of people working on it though, much more than is usual, which no doubt helps and as a previous poster said, there is some sort of system for cooperation. Also because it is a Coronavirus, scientists have been working on this type of virus for years, so they are not starting from scratch. As for the risk, caution is useful and surely a personal choice. There was a drug (not a vaccine) that testing failed to demonstrate the full effects of, not necessarily through lack of testing, I don't know the reason why the problems occurred, in the late 1950s/ early 60s. You may remember it, released to help mothers to combat morning sickness. It did not go well.
I saw a really good post on this but sod knows where. It went through the stages and basically said yeah it was ten years but that was so much waiting and doing nothing and funding issues etc.and If you stripped all that Wastage away As the whole world of science is on the case then it’s not really That outrageous

Have you got any evidence to the contrary? Show me a vaccine with a "long term" adverse impact please. Anyone will do
You can't be much fun to have a discussion with or a debate? As others have said you've missed the point lol Vaccines don't get released in under a year normally for this exact reason, they wait to see if there are any side affects, and if there are they don't release it. Now as someone else stated they've been working on other strands corona virus before. So I'm sure this with the fact every lab around the world for the last 8 months has been at full speed and full focus with immense funding to get this thing sorted.
I'll repeat for your benefit I'm all for a vaccine and its needed to return to reality, but a bit of caution is needed. To blindly follow with no thought, well is stupid.

It's speeded up by global collaboration through ACT (Access to COVID-19 Tools Accelerator). Global collaboration is not something that sits well with the UK media, though. This is why the origin of the Turkish-developed vaccine ( by BioNTech) that will be produced and distributed by Pfizer doesn't get a mention.

Biontech is a German company. The CEO is of Turkish decent but is German.

Yes, actually set up by a couple of German-Turkish medical scientists, I believe, with a long track-record in immunology. I think the comment about the UK media still applies, though.

I'm all for a debate on Covid vaccines, but aren't we straying away from the topic a little??!

First; I'd rather the money in my/families pocket, second; I know the seat will be available next season, third; I'll simply pay about the same amount for the same seat next season. I'd lay cash that you won't be seeing a game this season....just my guess.
When I bought my ST there were only 2 seats together near the half way line at the upper part of the North stand, all the others were level with the penalty area or further along. I don't want to lose those seats.

I will happily lay cash with you, if we don't see a game this season I will put £100 into any charity of your choice, hold me to it, you have my word. if we don't then you don't have to pay me anything.
