It would be good, I’ve always wondered where we would play him though. Probably wide left, but he’s not got the pace of a proper winger. I’d say he’s more of a natural ten but we obviously don’t use one in our system.

At the moment we seem to have several players who cannot get in our first choice team, including both our scorers yesterday as well as Forss. Do we really need more forwards?

Yes, they can’t get in because imo there not currently showing their good enough. We need to sign a left forward player who is going to challenge Canos.

Looks to me like agent talk or qpr pushing the sale to pay for Austin’s wages.. don’t think we’d be interested

World of difference between "monitoring" and actually showing interest. I would think we are currently monitoring loads of players. Not sure what his most effective position would be and, anyway, it is relatively easy to shine in a poor side like QPR.

While it's amusing to see us linked to White City Rovers' better players, I feel that that they are their better players because so many of the others are below average.

In the shed.
It’s easy to see a diamond in a dung heap but would it shine in our Crown Jewels?

He always looks interesting and able to pick a pass or two but never completely standing out when I watch him. I wonder if we'd see him as a midfield 3/Marcondes replacement?

Meh

A sign of where we are is that I’m completely unexcited about taking any of QPR’s better players, none of whom are as good as Eze, who was nowhere near as good as Said. If the DoFs see more, great. Otherwise, whatever.

He is a good player.
Funny enough i was chatting to a qpr mate last night about him. It would break them if we signed their best player.
For that reason I'm in if the DOF think he is good enough.

Saw him at Stevenage and quite a bit at Rangers. Can do much better.

Not for me.

A ''diamond'' in the rough at QPR (relatively) in as much as they're dreadful & he's stands out as he's decent.

We've already got players as good as and better at the club and a few with the potential to be better (Gilbert, Zamburek, Baptiste)., Definite no for me..

Yep. If we were to buy an attacking player would think be someone who can provide pace down either flank to replace Said and Valencia.

Our reason to buy should be improvement not to spite our neighbours. This is one I wouldn't pull up
If we paid peanuts for him and it added to Ra ras relegation, I’d be more than happy, the club has my full support

Three out of the last four rumours on this thread are for a midfielder. The latest one being Chair.

None of them seem to have any substance though. The Chair one in particular seems to be a story pushed either by the agent or QPR themselves to drum up interest. Brentford are a good club for your player to be associated with these days.

With Marcondes off, he could be a replacement.
In the little I've seen of Chair, he'd be a considerable downgrade. I really can't see that we'd have the slightest interest – we need to recruit to improve.

I don't think we are likely to be looking at him either, I suspect if we are looking it will probably be an unknown (to us).

I do not disagree, however, we could do with a midfielder who is a ready made, ready to go Championship player even if just to see us up this season.

We aren’t going to throw away our model for a player who has no upside or growth potential. If we bring in another midfielder it will be someone like Janelt that we believe has much more development potential even if they can do a job from day one. Also don’t discount what Ghoddos and Halil will add to our promotion push in second half is season. As will Roerslev coming back. Norgaard will also be like a new player when he returns . It’s cover at left back that I would be concerned about but I assume we have a plan . Racic returning may well give us necessary cover at Centre back given Goode’s recurring illness or injury issues and Pontus not being able to play that many games

He’s not better than what we have as starting players. QPR would bite our hands off to swap him for Canos.

The time it’d take for him to get used to our way of playing would be time in which the players we have challenging for starts could stake their claims. If we’re going to go for a player just to see out the promotion race I’d prefer it to be someone who really knows what they’re doing (eg as Wolves & Leeds had with Barry Douglas) than one of QPR’s mediocrities. Unless the DoFs see him having more potential than that.

Is he better than what we already have?

If not lets move on, and let someone else waste their money on him.

Chair would be ok, but wouldn't take us to the next level...at least yet. He's a promising young player though, and will certainly have a bright future at this level.

If Marcondes doesn't sign a new contract as suggested above, I don't think we'd need to replace now. I think we'd be happy to ride his contract out to be honest while playing him.

I support your view, however, in truth I was referring to a midfield player in general terms as per my previous post rather than the one you have replied to. As an example Josh Dasilva is in dire need of a break, and consequently we are not getting the best out of him. That is now, what state will he be in at the business end of the season. I also recognise the left back requirement, but in view of the heavy workload being placed on the midfield, the box to box midfielder plus the injury to Baptiste we need to sign cover in this window. If we can get another Janelt great, however, I think we can agree that we were fortunate there. There is no time to bed in a new signing, he must be able to hit the ground running. Yes, I am sure that we will get through the season with what we have, but if the aim is promotion then we must look at the areas of the team that need strong cover.

All I can add to this thread is that Wiki reckons he's 5'2''.

PS....he's a very decent player who plays in those critical half spaces in the final 3rd.
