Hi all, forgive me if this has already been covered elswhere on GPG but I have been frustrated for so long now since the new app launched that I had to seek reassurance from others that they are also highly annoyed. Genereally I am a stalker not a talker on GPG but now, as we are all armchair supporters thanks to Covid restrictions, I am not quite sure how to go about checking with others that the app is just as bad for them.

App updates often fail to satsify people but in this case the app is truly dreadful in comparison to the previous version (I think this new version was released during the end of last season) - some issues:

- Videos in news feeds do not display
- When accessing fixtures / results - other games in the league are not shown without specifically selecting the team.
- News feed cuts off the headlines

There are other annoyance but thes are the ones that wind me up the most I think. Not to mention another daft annoyance: for two months after our playoff final loss the landing page homescreen news headline was the video link to the highlights of this game. Truly awful.

Question is, what can be done about it?

The official Brentford FC app - sorry that wasn't clear.

Yes. I have issues also with the videos and have to rely on FB or News Now to see them.
Mentioned elsewhere that the best part of completing the first game was that reference to the Fulham defeat was finally removed. 😱

Took them a couple of months!

Does anyone know who has responsbility for managing the app? I'd like to write to them and somehow express my frustration. The app was great before, perhaps there was a problem with ticket integration (does this work?) but in solving that problem many others have been created. Surely those managing the app realise that videos being posting do not work.

It was Kurt's idea to design his own app on the basis that it would cost a ****ing fortune and bring in no more cash than the EFL app for which all the (other) clubs shared costs for. So it will be unsurprising (to this poster at least) that the app has been de-funded, and I expect that the next "strategic" announcement will be, er, that we will be using the working app that every other club has. However that probably involves us bearing the cost of its development so far.

Is it possible to access iFollow audio/ video through the BFC app?

I’m sure it was at one point but it now seems completely inaccessible on this front and either the BFC website or iFollow app need to be used.

Sorry I was not explicitly aware of the issues around ownership or funding. I had thought that the previous version of our app was standalone. I then thought that we had updated our app to fall into line with all the other clubs with some communal app.

I have found an article from 2017 using your reference to Kurt (Official App upgrades now released) which clears up some of my confusion but it doesn't explain what happened with the new version. If we have developed our own app then surely the developers would want feedback to correct ostensibly small issues? As Kurt has left perhaps the new Marketing Services Director (Steve Watts) will read this, or the Marketing Executive (Harry Hancock)?
