Defences will be partingSo if Benrahama and Watkins leave but Mbuemo stays, I hear our new forward line is "Toney and Bry"?
Appropriate as they "cut" through the opposition defences.
Don't think he would have chosen us over Newcastle tbfFrom his interview seems like a nice lad, shame they didn't sign him earlier (I suggested him on here when he was at Northampton), but was deluged with comments of him
not being a Brentford type of player.
It is warmer down here though Nick.Don't think he would have chosen us over Newcastle tbf
Would also have been his first game since March as well.Got into good positions - considering he has had 1 day of training with the team before today I'm impressed
Didn't he play after the lockdown?Would also have been his first game since March as well.
No, because League One went straight to POs.Didn't he play after the lockdown?
you are not the real Beast of Frankfurt are you ??Think he will turn out an excellent signing. Will help his career a lot better than going north of the border to the "two team" league.
The question should read:you are not the real Beast of Franfkfurt are you ??
hmm , really to both questions ?Looks like a decent signing wonder if we will play 2 up top or will Watkins go back out wide
Watkins ??Looks like a decent signing wonder if we will play 2 up top or will Watkins go back out wide
lolLooks like a decent signing wonder if we will play 2 up top or will Watkins go back out wide
I'd imagine it will be Ivan up front, Said and Ollie playing behind him and Raya and Bryan out wide.Looks like a decent signing wonder if we will play 2 up top or will Watkins go back out wide
This is great. Thanks for posting. From the Peterborough chairman's (Darragh Macanthony) podcast a good 10 mins on the Ivan Toney deal:
- Rasmus contacts Darragh back in January during their match against Wycombe (Ivan scores 2) trying to buy Toney - Posh turn it down
- The pandemic happens - during the season restart Rasmus come in again, there's about 2 weeks of negotiating (looking for a pandemic discount), Celtic pop up plus a few other clubs
- Eventually a fee plus add ons was agreed about 7 weeks ago,
- It seems we couldn't initially agree personal terms and so Peterborough started to talk to other clubs, before Rasmus phone's up last week to confirm it's all sorted.
- If Peterborough had waited till longer in the window, they probably could have sold him for more..(Prem cubs were asking about him)
- Very achievable add ons
- One club came in with a fee, half of what we paid and said they will wait till Jan and pick him up on a pre-signing contract if they couldn't get him now...
- Darragh seems convinced Brentford will either get promoted or sell Toney for 25-35 million (Posh will make another 3-4 million)
- Last summer Toney wanted to move and a Championship club came in offering him 6-7k a week, he was persuaded to stay and now he is potentially earning 5 times that .

are we?!?!Of all the astonishing changes to our club within the last decade the one I struggle to get my head around the most is that we're now paying wages in excess of £30k/week
On Twitter, when asked how were Brentford to deal with, Darragh MacAnthony replied "Excellent. I dealt with Rasmus personally on this 7 weeks ago".From the Peterborough chairman's (Darragh Macanthony) podcast a good 10 mins on the Ivan Toney deal:

We are nearly big boys now mate. Its good isn't it.We have moved on to another level by looks of it in relation to wages etc. The days of selling 3 players to the likes of Birmingham or any Championship club appear over.
Nowadays we look like we'll only sell to PL clubs or Overseas and are no longer seen as merely a stepping stone to bigger things.
Great times.
Think we've always structured it so that bonuses are a fair whack of potential income for players...From the Peterborough chairman's (Darragh Macanthony) podcast a good 10 mins on the Ivan Toney deal:

Yeah I added in the “potentially” .Think we've always structured it so that bonuses are a fair whack of potential income for players...
Well above the radar! We are nearly big boys now mate. Its good isn't it.
He also has to "sell" the deal to the Peterborough fans. So pinch of salt required.Yeah I added in the “potentially” .
Their chairman is adamant that Toney has become a “multi-millionaire”....
I guess he needs to make things sound interesting otherwise people wouldn’t listen to his podcast etc. When they find out it’s based on bonuses and spread across 5 years etc etc
When they do Adrian Durham will spontaneously combust.Yeah I added in the “potentially” .

And got binned off at half time. Very worrying.I'm not sure he is any good though
Played against a back four he would have known how to exploit and he hasn't scored. Get rid.
Btw if the figures are reliable are we really paying £30k a week? The times really are achanging

I think we’re still a stepping stone (which is definitely a good thing as it must be a major factor in some of the players we attract against stiff competition) but one step further in their journey so that the stones they step on to next are all prem and massive clubs not large/average sized championship clubsWe have moved on to another level by looks of it in relation to wages etc. The days of selling 3 players to the likes of Birmingham or any Championship club appear over.

About 3 years ago when we were paying £1m for players I suggested that we would be paying £2m very soon .. I was shot down by quite a few on here!Of all the astonishing changes to our club within the last decade the one I struggle to get my head around the most is that we're now paying wages in excess of £30k/week
You silly boy. You're taking your 'rush goalie' fantasies to ridiculous extremes now.I'd imagine it will be Ivan up front, Said and Ollie playing behind him and Raya and Bryan out wide.
Not surprised, they knew that was going to be too low.About 3 years ago when we were paying £1m for players I suggested that we would be paying £2m very soon .. I was shot down by quite a few on here!
Over a 5 year deal, you’d also become a “multi-millionaire” (I.e. over £2m) if you were on £8kpw.He also has to "sell" the deal to the Peterborough fans. So pinch of salt required.
