Thought Jota showed great potential to day and was wrongly subbed (should have been Warbs mate Smith) liked to have seen more of him with Moses playing behind him in the RB role

Jota has been in this country for less than two weeks and not yet up to speed. A fair decision by Warburton and to suggest he's playing his mate is offensive and wrong.

With 10 men I expect the view was that MW wanted experience and battlers on the pitch, albeit in the first half there was little evidence of that. This young man will get his chance, probably Tuesday and hopefully if lives up to his reputation, will continue

To be fair it's a tough call.
Smith is going to come off at some point I would imagine, so it would have made more sense in my opinion for him to have made way.
But I don't get paid to make such decisions.

I think Smith should have been the one not Jota. Jota already showed his willingness to track back albeit in a brief spell and looked dangerous in possession. Smith was off the pace for most of the first half and wasn't tracking and with ten men IMO he contributed to us getting a bit of a chasing after the sending off. It was predictable that he would be subbed at half time. I think that was a case of Warbs correcting an error.

Nobody is perfect and with hindsight smith didn't really perform but MW wasn't to know that and on paper Smith was probably the best choice to leave on.

10 men and a goal down after 16 minutes, the first thing to think about is stabilising the team and having an experienced head who can communicate with the other, mainly young, players would be vital. Smith or Jota? Rethink the tactics, get to half time without conceding and then set the team up; perfect management.

IMO Warbs made an error. Like all of us he's human. Sure we got to half time only 1-0 down but we should have been dead and buried. I see your reasoning but going down to 10 players IMO puts a premium on having your 10 fittest and quickest players on the pitch. Pace in particular as it can worry the oppo. I'd have taken Smith off and put Moses on. IMO Warbs had luck on his side first half but the second half was a superb effort.

Guess he'll play 90mins against Fulham seeing as he didn't get many minutes yesterday.
His old (loan) club Eibar won their first game in La Liga today v Real Sociedad, quite an achievement for a club from a town with a population, at less than 30k, smaller than many stadiums!
Jota was seen as a huge loss to them, their biggest loss, which is detailed in this Spanish football website article.
Shows what a player we have, look forward to seeing him play at my first game on Tuesday against that rabble from down the road!

This guy is going to be hugely influential for us this season. Bearing in mind he didn't have a pre-season with us, today was just a taster of how good he's going to be. agree. i liked the way AM was giving him instructions in the 1st half and then reverted to the old explaining with hand gestures! ha. And going to get better and better as he finds his feet and how to play with the team. Sheer class as you state.

That's what I thought ,but did improve as the first half progressed and showed his obvious talent when he beat 2 men and put in a good cross just before we scored.He will need to be given time to get used to championship football.

He is a quality player not yet up to full fitness. When you think he had hardly any pre season his performances in mid are outstanding. He will be a match winner for us in due course.

Warbs. Is handling him well giving him 60 odd minutes to allow him to get up to full fitness and prevent him picking up an injury or burning him out too early. Also suspect he has been told he can give it his all for 60 odd minutes. Team is settling down to a first eleven with automatic replacements that won't weaken the team or upset the formation.

He could be the best player to wear the Brentford shirt, certainly in my life time, bloke is caviar, took him a little while to get into the game but when he got himself warmed up he was unplayable. Must be terrifying to play against when he's running at you, plus you have to consider he's not well known to clubs at this level, so research and scouting reports will be fairly vague. Nevertheless he is something else hopefully he'll be with us for a long time.

What a shame he didn't just smack it rather than try to cross it.
He is a little lightweight so I expect he will not have such an impact in the tough Tuesday night games in January, but when we play football and Mac, Harlee and JD are kicking arse all over the pitch he will tear teams apart.
