Preston programme just arrived - very striking cover photo and interesting interviews with Marcus Forss and a couple of the B team. Preston content is good too.

Sorry to quote myself, but I also ordered the Millwall prog from Curtis (for my son, honestly). Oddly, it has a full reprint of the 1926/27 Brentford vs Millwall home game (as in, Griffin Park) programme in it, which might be of interest to some.

Stopped buying them now.

Purchased all of last seasons, as it was our last at GP, and just purchased the first one at LR. That’s me done! :)

I will buy the Remembrance Day one though.:sorted:

Ps The postage costs take the P and the costs v value for money takes it beyond it’s worth. :(

Old Malden actually......
I much prefer the character and individuality of the old '70's and '80's programmes (I just recently bought an entire collection of home and aways from that era, which is making me very happy) but this season's edition is very good. Possibly the best designed that we've produced and much better use of photos than recent years. At a time when so many clubs are beginning to reduce the resources they put into their programmes I'm very impressed with ours. I took out a subscription this season for the first time and while its no substitute for being at the game having a programme somehow just provides a sliver of normality. I take the point about the price though when postage has to be included.

What you’d give to get home on a Saturday night to take a Strongbow soaked, creased programme out of your back pocket though!

I‘ll probably still continue buying them throughout the season. I rarely read all that much but I get a brief bit of excitement when they drop on the doormat!

Hopefully the club gains a little from these on-line purchases and personally I enjoy reading them (in the absence of the 'real thing') however the Swansea programme was only posted out on the day of the game (3rd November) and although 1st class did not arrive until today. It doesn't include any updates following Saturday's match at Luton, so I'm not very impressed. Having said that, I have ordered the MIddlesbrough issue. Maybe this will arrive before kick-off?

I didn't get my norwich programme till the friday after the game and it didn't have any updates from the stoke game the saturday before . I have yet to get my swansea programme and as you say it does not have the updates from the Luton game in in . Those i think its an excellent production posting a programme on the day the game is due is not very good service . It would sort of be ok if the reason it was sent so late was because it was all up to date with the last game info but its not . I think the Club need to have a word and say ether include the last match and send it min the day before a game or send it in time for the game with the understand that it would not include the latest info . When we restarted after lockdown i ordered every programme for the games and it was the latter way and they always came in time for the game. In fact apart from the barnsley game which came on the day of the game itself they came a day or two before .

They’re arriving later and later. I’m not sure I’ll continue bothering TBH. Having the programme to flick through before the game in the summer was a tiny bit of normality but it becomes pointless if they’re arriving two days after the game

I find the Saturday match progs arrive on time, but for Tues games I tend to receive them on Weds - I understand it's down to when Curtis actually print them .... so for Tues games they only have the Monday to print & post, (so no time for the Club to submit & insert details re the Sat game), & the majority get posted on the actual Tuedsday. Maybe if our midweek homes were on a Weds instead, Curtis would have more time to print & post & we'd get them in time - just a thought

There are some good articles in the Bees Programme, maybe not in everyone

Mine arrived yesterday. Excellent cover and articles inside. Wish the scores/results were at the back and not somewhere in the middle but that is only a minor gripe as I think it’s very good this season.

Was the WW1 article of Laurent D'Abadie included? :)

Idris Hopkins, from season 1938/1939. (The year Brentford wore the Brentford and Chiswick coat of arms on the player shirts and club blazers)

It was a picture taken v Portsmouth. (22/2/1939)

I've got a copy of that photo (in its full landscape format) framed in my hallway. Bought it from a photographic agency years ago.

The post office is struggling during covid-19. Curtis are pretty good and at least they’ve given a go during the pandemic. Others haven’t.

I'd stopped buying them years ago.
I got last seasons, as it was the last one at GP, and have been buying this seasons, as the first one at LR.
But won't be getting it in the future.
Have been very disappointed with this seasons effort.

Only one I bought since not being allowed to watch matches in the flesh, as it were, was the last one at GP.

Does anyone know whether those of us lucky enough to be in the 2k crowds at LR, will be able to buy them there, rather than mail order?

No, I think that is still a COVID no no.

Still waiting for Friday's programme. Curtis did really well for the first 10 or so programmes but are now running late with every programme. Disappointing.

It could well be the post office. Not sure if it's Christmas temps but one knocked "I have a delivery for you ", "No you don't", "Huh ?" Pointed to the plaque by the door, "Wrong house, wrong number, wrong street. " "Oh" and off he went.
