JDS drifting through would soon unlock their man to man marking
We
Hats on to Raya, mistake in first few minutes but he didnt let it get him down and was outstanding. Nice to see Jenson and Janelt score as well.
Mistake? It looked like another elbow in the face to me.

A great win today, which nicely illustrates two measures of how we are improving:
1. Away victories (regular season)
2018/19 = 3
2019/20 = 10
2020/21 = 7 to date (with 10 away games still to play).

2. Getting points out of games when the opposition score first. 2019/20 was unimpressive (from memory something like 20% of potential). This season = W4 D3 L2 = 15/27 = 56%.

Janelt, Ghoddos, Jensen cost less between them than Boro paid for Savile. Assombalonga, as previously commented, is stealing a living. Astonishing that they paid £15m for him nearly 4 years ago.

Particularly as one of the three away wins in 18/19 was the cancelled fixture at Bolton. Otherwise it was just Rotherham and Boro (which Pulis gifted us).

Would have taken a win there over a win at Norwich. Incredible victory. Bolasie shut down second half. Raya a God!

Impressive ! Only a 57 year wait for me but my Dad has been waiting for 83 bloody years !!
Where was your dad in 1938/39 and in 1945 then?

I saw them in the old Division 1 pre-WW2 but was too young to know much about it - but I still remember 1945, when we were relegated..... along with Leeds.

Have to say I didn't really enjoy that until the 4th went in.. What a result though. We need to be better starting games though. Dalsgaard gave the ball away carelessly early on allowing them a couple of corners, and, lo, they score. Bad choice by Raya to come out with the wind swirling around. In fairness we got straight back on it and dominated possession after that, got ourselves back in it with some neat interplay between Fosu and Toney, Toney slotting home the equaliser. Second half boro came out at as and a frantic few minutes saw Raya make excellent reaction saves from the boro strikers and Janelt! Boro were using their usual man to man marking system but our movement off the ball was excellent with Toney, Ghoddos, Canos and Fosu all moving across the pitch. Pinnock and Sorenson were allowed space to bring the ball out and an excellent run from Sorenson saw him whip a ball across to Toney, he nodded it down and Janelt swept it in with his wrong foot! 2-1! The weather was atrocious by this point and the pitch really cutting up, players slipping all over the place. Boro were giving it a good go but were finding Raya in inspired form. Long ball forward from us, Jensen chases and their defender goes arse over on the centre circle. Jensen races through, he's got Toney to one side. He looks at toney, feints to pass (PASS IT JENSEN FFS!!!), another feint leaves the keeper dead on his feet, goes round him and slots in. 3-1 (always knew you'd put it in Matthias!). Still bloody nervous though as boro are giving it a good go, we're not really keeping the ball and anything could happen with the rain and wind and pitch. Finally though we finish it off. Lovely move sees the ball come to Henry on the edge, he makes himself space and smashes it in, deflection flicks it up onto the crossbar but Mbeumo is bright enough to whip it back in and Toney finishes it off. Game over. Just time for Jensen to smack a long range effort against the post as they back off.. 4-1 bees, beating Colin and the weather.. Fantastic stuff.. Certainly not at our best defensively but we are looking like we can score for fun at the moment. Excllent performances from Toney and Fosu and Jensen and Henry in particular in the second half. Pinnock and Sorenson at the back outstanding. Prob not Henrik's best day but he had a tough opponent in Bolasie. I'd imagine Swansea fans were loving it at 1-0 but the final score will have everyone taking notice.. With players like DaSilva, Mbeumo, Norgaard, Marcondes and Jansson still to return properly from injury, things are looking very good!

Good Point Larry.. To be fair I don't think he can remember as far back as 1938/39 although you are right he would have definitely have watched the Bees that season as his 1st game was 1935. He wouldn't have been around to see the Bees in 1945 though as he was away with the army in Egypt.

I am now thinking that the players out should not automatically come back in. We have a really good balance, scoring goals for fun, 20 games unbeaten etc etc. Have them on the bench and for rotation when required, but I would leave this team well alone if possible. A very nice problem to have.

Let’s be honest that was a much tougher game than the score line would suggest!
We lived dangerously and thanks to Raya stopped them at crucial times , but wow were we clinical in front of goal , think of any champions of any division we’ve been in and they all have that winning mentality in common , and it’s now a Brentford thing !!
I think we also caught Boro at a good time as well they’ve made some excellent signings Bolasie and Kebano are dangerous players at this level and once Warnock has time to sort them out I can see them going on a run and getting into the playoffs.
All the more important we finish top 2 as we all know what will happen if we don’t !!

I was returning from having Covid jab, and the radio said Boro 1-0 up, another early goal conceded and I must admit I
was expecting Warnock to do a number on us, oh me of little faith (too many years of watching Brentford takes its toll,)
fantastic performance, perhaps the plane trip helped.

Didn’t want to look at this match thread while the game was on, cos I knew I’d get annoyed! Now after that Fantastic win. And the brilliant saves Raya did, I felt I needed to post. We’ve now gone 20 games unbeaten in maybe the 4th most competitive league anywhere in the world! And some were quick to get the knives out on Raya, after about 4 minutes!
99 times out of 100 Boro goal & Swansea goal would have been ruled out. If the Referee wasn’t so SH*T! We don’t resort to the dark arts like Cooper & Warnock, thank god.
I Love this honest Team! Come on you Bees!!!

New stadium and brilliant team and we cant see it. Could only happen to us.
Yep thinking the same myself, just a shame there's not a packed stadium to watch the BEST ever Brentford team.

We are turning in to a machine.

Doesn’t matter how we perform, we look dangerous.

Raya man of match for incredible saves when it mattered before we pulled away with the score line
