Non Brentford Games Attended 2020-21

I can't find a thread for this. No doubt if this is the first someone can gove it a 'funkier' title.

Gillingham Town 3 Wincanton Town 2.

£2 entrance. I counted about 87 there but you never can tell who is there in what capacity. A more mature crowd.

Not a bad game. A few players appeared to be carrying quite a bit of weight. WT keeper went off which made quite a difference.

Gillingham Town's ground is a very curious one - they've moved just down the road from this old ground and everything is made up of shipping container type structures. No seating. One small metal terrace behind one goal.

It felt very good to be back at a game. I reckon it is my longest break since about 1980.

Att knocking 100. ( 150 max restriction )

Chichester of Isthmian South East Division a couple of divisions above Southern Combination Div 1 were too much. Pretty much 1 sided throughout, Selsey hardly getting out of their half.
0-0 at half time, could have been 5 or so then.

I've been to a few Stow games in the past and always enjoyed the experience, so I am looking forward to getting back to seeing some live football, even if it is an hour long journey to get there! Anyone else looking at the FA Cup fixtures?

What time was that Selsey game? We drove past the Pagham ground circa 4.30ish and you couldn't tell a game was on but the pub over the road looked crammed. Oh hold on that was on Sunday not Saturday.

I'm half tempted to get a Taunton FC season ticket, only 20 minutes away from me, and when I can't attend bees go see the local "Peacocks" as they are called. With Covid as it is, I can't see us attending more than half our home games each.

It might have changed I was there some 20years ago. Definitely rough back then. But yes a very nice ground. Few of my childhood friends have played for the club.

Was debating going along to Basingstoke a bit this year.

But seeing as they play in a sports complex and a ST is £130 i might make it just the once or twice.

Southern Combination Football League Premier Division v Wessex League Premier Division, same level I believe.

Fa cup extra preliminary round

Programme £1
Att : looked well over 100, probably biggest I’ve seen in there. Up to 20 Fleet going by their goal celebrations.

A very lively fast first half. Both teams looking decent early on. Fleet scored a screamer from 30 + yards, curling in to the top Left corner. 2 mins later Pagham score with some nice passing. Pagham take hold of the game and within 10 mins are 2-1 up, a cross in to the box ends up hitting a defender in the 6 yard area and going in to the top corner. Pagham finished the stronger.
2nd half still lively, both teams could have scored.

Was announced pre kick off that there’d be no replay or extra time. Straight to pens if a draw.

Pagham look a decent side.

Winner receives £1,125, loser £375

Whitchurch Alport FC v Haughmond in the FA Cup last night. £4 to get in. 300 permitted in.
Whitchurch won 3-1. It was a real feisty affair. Whitchurch keeper sent off.
Loads of away fans there from Southport area and good banter to be heard ... like the Lino getting severe stick for being a tad portly. Replacement keeper, said to have 6 fingers .. all that kind of malarkey. The Haughmond Center half was about 8 feet tall and nicknamed the beast. Might want to try taking up basketball, he was no Terry Evans. Enjoyed it, although I never tried the pies ! Next time.

A couple of weeks back now, but Broadbridge Heath U18s v Crawley Town Development Squad.
Admission free.
No programme.
Attendance about 30.
Lots of mums.
Chap count 2.
Me and an old school Millwall fan.
We didn't stop talking throughout the game.


A good game which end 5-3 to BBH. This being Crawley Towns first game with this squad.
A nice tidy ground that BBH have built right next to a new sports centre in the grounds of Tesco car park.
I can see me seeing many games here this season as it is 5 minutes drive from home.

Did not venture in the clubhouse. No programme. It is Brislington in Bristol so you would not want to get involved in any altercations with most of the crowd. No idea about food either. So sorry on all of those scores.

Wincanton had loads of players injured. Went ahead in the first half but all Almondsbury in the second half. Probably a fair result.

Few strange things: Proximity of their ground and Roman Glass St George's - very close. Could not park in Almondsbury's car park so parked in RGSG's. Anyone else ever parked in another club's car park when they were playing?

They were giving children 'thunder clappers' - somewhere between nice of them and awful.

Stand is parents and children only - never seen that before.

Less said about social distancing the better.

Also how many grounds are so near a major motorway and a major motorway junction.
