Think of all the promotion bonus payments to players and other clubs and higher salaries we now don’t have to pay.

Due to COVID It was highly likely that we wouldn't be allowed into Lionel Rd for an unforeseen period to see those upcoming 'Premiership' games, so we can next season!!

At least I know who my "other" team is next year.

It will be whichever one of the other nineteen PL clubs Putney are playing.

Last time we lost a play off final we went up automatically the next year and the team that beat us ended up in non league football

It'll be much, much more fun when we get promoted for the first time and we're all actually there to see it and when the time comes, we'll be glad that moment wasn't taken away from us this season.

That for me would have been a real choker waiting all this time to play the likes of Liverpool, Man U, Arsenal and not being able to go plus unable to visit the stadiums we have not played in b4 ...W Ham, New Spurs , Ethiad .....

Who recalls the way we came out and played angry in the Swansea 2nd leg match?

Well, I feel an angry season coming up! All the way from Benham at the top in this transfer window, right down to the B teamers who step up.

We're gonna blow the opposition away next season!! ;-)

I am very optimistic about the transfer window. We are likely to lose Watkins, Benrhama and possibly Henry, reckon for the thick end of £45m. We put £20m back into the club and £25m goes in transfers (the wage bill will be freed up). Yes losing these 3 will be a big loss but this is massively a buyers market:

1. Covid has exposed badly run Championship clubs who would have previously outbid us on wages. I suspect our £10K a week or so wages will be the norm for top players.

2. Teams will need to sell to balance the books and players from league 1 will want to escape the impending salary cap.

3. We have a track record in bringing talent in. We become even more attractive to players and wages.

4. We spent well in January and have Forss available who could be a really strong prospect.

I agree
I was hoping we would have started the same against Fulham. We need to add more aggression, within the laws of the game, to our play

Looking forward to trip to Bournemouth (assuming it's quite late in the season and hopefully when we can go to matches) as it's closer than a home game for me. Also good memories of the 1-0 win there in 2009!

I've been consoling myself with that thought.
We might have lasted one season in the Premier League, and never seen a game, although I was quite confident that had we gone up we would have survived.

And we haven't got to wait that long until the new seasons starts.
It will still all be fresh in the players minds, and any new ones will be made aware.

This is pretty much spot on. We have about the best value young squad in the league and next season there will be many Championship sides who are going to struggle off the pitch with the current situation. Might not be the worst thing starting at the new stadium behind closed doors. Get used to it a bit before the fans come back.

I think it's possible, even likely that the 3 mentioned would have gone even if we had been promoted. The likes of Chelsea, Villa and Palace would always pay them more than us. That's what they and their agents are all about ££££££££.....

I'm not sure that's positive?

We finished higher in the league than all 8 clubs who previously beat us in the play offs.

1997 seemed and was bad but we’ve now been in the Championship longer In the intervening 23 years than any of the three clubs who went up that year. The best of them is now in L2, another is in the depths of non-league and the other no longer exists.

Forty five years ago now, give or take a few minutes, I made my debut at GP. Not my first live football, but destined to be my first and lifetime love.

I've made some bad decisions in my life. This wasn't one of them.

As proud to be a Bee as I ever was. Mediocre 4th division to 3rd in division 2? That'll do me, and you can shove the reflected glory of decades old triumphs where the sun don't shine.

I honestly believe we will have a stronger squad than last year. With that and the experience of last year we will draw some of the 1-0 defeats we suffered last year but the big test will be next Saturday.

Hopefully 5-6 players gone from the squad from last season. 2 added. some work to go yet.

Not really as we loaned out Forss and Bech Sørensen last year so they have been added to the squad. We have signed 2 already one is more or less confirmed and we are semi close to another and one we want is proving slightly difficult as the selling club don't want to sell in this window.

I will change my habit of missing out on Match of the Day at weekends. It will be great to see Maupay, Sawyers, Watkins and Benrahma displaying their skills each week and waiting for the pundits aka Shearing, Murphy, et al to eulogise over their performances. And it was “little Brentford” who had a major part in the creation of these little gems.😁
