Already played nearly 20 minutes for the first team up at Middlesbrough in a 2-1 win, also played 16 games for Iceland, certainly does not need non league football, with a 4 year contract + 1 year option he musty be highly thought of, perhaps a short loan to a top half league one team, with a recall if needed, it will all depend what happens to our 1st & 2nd choice keepers in this window l!!!
Can't recall now can you? Loan to Jan only?

Keeps a clean sheet for Iceland U21's as they beat Ireland U21's 1-0.

But fantastic experience for a lad who's just turned 19.
Yeah, although frustrating he had to travel so far just to end up unused, though maybe players will trade a bit of jet lag for some mid-season sun. Surprised Kolbeinn Finnsson didn't get a call up, as he did this time last year, while with us. Could be that Borussia Dortmund II isn't as big a name as Brentford B!

Just given away a needless penalty by pulling back a player who was heading away from goal.
Oxford scored from it.

Wasn't in the Viborg squad for their last game.
Is he going to be recalled?

I hope, unlike Balcs at the same club this time last year, he can keep his place after returning from international duty.
Balcombe got sent off, and had an injury I believe.

Really doing well is Patrik! Very good to see.. With Balcombe improving a lot this season we're well covered with keepers for a while!

He's just tweeted that he's played his last game for Viborg.. Wonder what the plan is? We'd have 4 keepers vying for first team spots!

Luke Daniels our of contract in the summer, perhaps the time has come for him to be moved aside.

Wouldn't be shocked if we have a league one club lined up for him.

Viborg FF don't play again until end of February 2021. So his next move will be to become the No.2 here, replacing Daniels and Balcombe, or for another loan to a Club in L.1/L.2 here. Even a loan to a Club in Europe in the second tiers.

Stands to reason when he's only on loan until 31 December ;) Obviously it won't extended, what with them now on their winter break. Looks like he either finishes the season with Bees or on loan at a club which doesn't have a winter break.

He seems to be a much more natural successor to Raya than Balcombe so will be interesting to see what the next move is.. He's certainly done extremely well at Viborg..

Seems like he is a target for Danish second-tier club Silkeborg.

Not sure what the point of that would be? He might just as well go back to Viborg where he's settled.. Would imagine we want a bigger challenge for him..

One thing's for sure, he'll be hoping Viborg go on to win the title, so he gets a medal!

Perhaps I am wrong, but has their season finished, and it is now some time until Viborg play again?

Can't see us playing him at right-back

Yes, but the club he's linked to, Silkeborg play in the same league. Think they don't play again until mid Feb..

Difficult to disagree, however, young goal keepers need to keep playing rather than sit on a bench.
To be honest if Areta survives despite the new contract I still think Raya will move to Arsenal in the summer; he might even go if we're promoted though this might be less likely. The new contract is great but we've seen a lot of clubs tidy up loose ends to ensure they sell at the time it suits them, guarantees the fee they want and keeps the player happy with a payrise before the move eventually happens. If Inaki still wants Raya at Arsenal then it's likely he'll get him. We have great young goalkeepers coming through so we may look in that direction and keep Daniels for experience. I just wonder if we told Raya no last summer as the bid wasn't expected and we had no backup plan in place but assured him we'll work on the gk department to put things in place. I might be wrong but I have a feeling I'm not far wrong.

Can see a League One loan in the near future with the aim of him being number 2 next season with Daniels out of contract

Do not disagree with one word. Even more important to get Gunnarsson to go on loan again for the rest of the season, he will then be in the best place to over next season to take over from Daniels. That is of course providing he can display the ability to do so.
