He's a footballer. He doesn't panic. He was slow to begin with us as he wasn't fit and players around him were slow to make themselves available. I think he has the same vision as Jensen and he is more accurate with his through balls and set pieces.

I still think he can be fitter than he is, but he's showing glimpses each time he plays. I think if we can get him on the ball more, he'll be effective.

His ball striking when passing (or passing it into the net tonight) is pure class. Such a clean manipulator of the ball. When he does get a bit higher to join attacks he’s always a threat either assisting or shooting.

Great when he’s on the ball but seems to be playing in slow motion sometimes. Don’t know if it’s fitness or his style.

I think it’s becoming increasingly clear why we tracked him for so long. His quality on the ball and quality of strike is one of the best in the team. He made his goal look easy last night thanks to his technical ability. He’s been making good runs and finding space, an intelligent player.
Still more to come and he needs to get his hands dirty a bit more but signs of that coming by standing up to Bannan in one altercation tonight.

He was a lot more physical last night I thought. Added a bit of nasty to his game. I think there's a big player in there.

Agreed.
When he first joined he was playing high and in his first 2 matches, when he didn't have time to dwell on the ball or think about things and was just "reacting" instinctively to survive, he was full of clever assists and passes. If we had a fully fit squad I think his best work is done around the fringes of the penalty area, but let's see.

Frustrating because you know there's bags more in there. If he can step it up it could be the kick we need to auto .

Reminds me a lot of Emiliano.

Slow start, no-one quite sure of his best position for the English game, sort of a midfielder, sort of a winger, sort of a forward, sort of none of them. Can go through games looking average at best, but unquestionably has something about him and produces some great goal-scoring moments.

Think he will be a bit part player this season (unless there are further injuries) which is to be expected given the usual adaptation period and his lack of football in the year before.

But if we are in the Championship next season, with the right pre-season regime fitness-wise and given a consistent starting role as a number 10 I think he could be a big player for us and ultimately what Emiliano could never quite be since he signed.
I think he and EM could work really well together behind the striker, both make clever runs in and around the box, both like to play quick one twos to move the ball on, can go wide and cross the ball and are happy to shoot when given a chance. Can't see how that would happen in our current set up though unless we abandoned the wingers in the front three and made them 2 no.10s..

Fantastic game from Saman today. Was the pick of the midfielders in a dire first half and then showed real passion and aggression and no little skill in the second half.. So unlucky with that shot from the edge of the box.. THAT's what we've been waiting for Saman!!!!

For me, the best move Frank could have done was to bring in Jensen to give more space for Saman to push up to the front which worked out wonders! at a time it looked as if they were playing a 4-2-3-1 but i could have been mistaking. but man TF definitely changed the game by bringing Jensen in the game. Love to see more shots from Saman as well, got a little taste here tonight with little to no run-up to the ball.

Keep this up Saman!

Superb today, loved his face off, for want of a better word, with Obi Mikel.

A massive second half. My motm for the 30+ minutes in that second half.
winning headers, chasing back. We know he can strike a ball so cleanly. Love him standing up to their “Captain” who behaved like a petulant toddler.

Looking very fit. Bodes well for the rest of the season.
Yep. 13 games to go. The nitty gritty part of the season coming up. Another run in of ups and downs like last season! 😁

It’s pleasing to see Ghoddos getting up to speed now. Good to have EM back to come on to back him up. Just a shame JDS is struggling at this time.

Having Norgaard back will allow JDS to rest I’d imagine. Worst case scenario if we end up in the play offs and keep everyone fit we will p*ss them...

When you see how well he hit that effort second half, it's all the more frustrating the weak effort he had when in an excellent position first half. Really pleased to see the energy he had today. He actually started to be more aggressive with about 10 mins of the first half to go and got on the ball and started making things happen. I think he's got real quality but we need to get him on the ball in the right areas.. I don't think he was helped by Josh's bizarre non-appearance on the wing..

When he catches it, he really wellies it. He's also started to run with a lot more pace and tackle with a lot more conviction. He's never going to be svelte, but combining running at people, being more robust and having a barrel chest and a powerful shot, I can see him turning into a bit of a beast!

Well on his highlights video from Ostersunds, he kind of barrels his way past players rather than using tricks like Said.. He does have a few tricks up his sleeve though, I think he's just starting to get the confidence to try them now.. He could well get a fair few goals for us the rest of this season..

When was this? I'm searching for it :p
I assume it was the incident in the second half when the two of them had a staring match and the ref had a word. But, as I said, I'm passing on unsubstantiated allegations from my son. If you find out he's making it up, I'll tell him off on behalf of the GPG.

It's not quite right. He puts his hands down the back of his shorts and runs them around the side before withdrawing them to "shake hands" which also must have been a touching glance

I think the 2nd half performance is the kind of performance Iranians are used to see of him. If he plays like this from the get go we will see the Saman who made Wengers Arsenal almost cry.

Really want to see him more involved closer to Toney and the penalty area. He's got a lot about him and is a clever player but feel that's being wasted by having to do so much work up and down the pitch in midfield..

Hasn't got the engine for it IMO.
