We are a premier leagure team in all but name, getting there is so difficult though.

Teams like WBA and Sheff U, even Fulham, could all have said that over the last couple of years.

So that even if we are progressively acquiring all the tools needed for the job, imo we can't make such a claim until we actually get there - and stay there for more than a season or two.

All the praise, all the hype, all the bluff about their siege mentality, Wilder working wonders, Egan and OConnell being starlets we let go...turns out they're just one season wonders like Huddersfield and so many before them. Stay up while riding a crest of a wave then disappear back into insignificance. Hope their fans are enjoying this season

Yes. Very good player - had an interesting upbringing especially with his old man inside. Was very shy when he came to Brentford. But once the academy was shut a host of clubs were keen to take him in but he wanted to stay in London to be close to his mum.

Will be interesting to see how his career develops with Palace be beyond.

I saw them at Spurs away last year and they were really impressive. Can’t believe how crap they have turned this season. Wilder for all he has achieved with them has flopped spending money on the forwards he has since theywere promoted.

Didn't they spend the best part of £40m on Brewster and that lump McBurnie? As a team they look utterly clueless, and as you say, it couldn't happen to a nicer bunch!

Weird isnt it. I think injuries havent helped plus they have brought in quite a few new players havent they but tried to keep the same tempo.

Couldnt be happier tho as i cant Wilder especially with his "say it as it is" and aggressive style.

O’Connell missing the season for them is a huge loss. He’s literally the 1 player they haven’t got a replacement for. The others are all much of a muchness, but are having to defend more eg Basham, but that’s not his strongpoint.

O’Connell missing the season for them is a huge loss. He’s literally the 1 player they haven’t got a replacement for. The others are all much of a muchness, but are having to defend more eg Basham, but that’s not his strongpoint.
They’ve had success in recent seasons with ultra-high effort, and maximising their opportunities. The moment this slips back towards the norm, then the wheels fall off....

Their style took many by surprise as well with CB's flooding forward and overloading in wide areas. The better teams will be aware and counter it this season.

Might be men against boys but this derby side are meant to be players that are supposedly good enough to be a part of a championship youth line. Physically they may not be up to the same standards, but they're playing against players who may not ever play that high.
In a way, its like our B team playing against Maidenhead.

Just premier league i think.

As you can see with the game above and below ours, they have VAR, we don't.
I personally think if a ground is equipped, so that includes ours, recently relegated premier league grounds etc then it should be.

wonder what would have happened if we were the home side v Tottenham. We have the facilities to have it, so would they have made us use it or would we not have had it?

Its not being used at Chorley. I would have thought it should be same for all games
