Unbelievable.
Hopefully! Pretty embarrassing day for the champions of Europe! Is the media love in with Leeds/Bielsa over?
Class bit of keeping that was.The keeper's going to be disappointed with that![]()
If Steele noted how 5 NEWPORT players took their penalties, then credit to him, If he couldn't trust Maupay et al to beat them in 120 minutes that is....What an awful penalty shoot out. And how could Newport not spot something with Steele?
He went the right way for EVERY kicker, even standing in the centre for one. Narrowly missed other 2 but saved 4 of the 7. Camera showed him hiding his bottle under his towel. I know they can't see his bottle from half way but after 3 or 4 penalties, even I sussed it. He done what pickford clearly done at the World Cup the other year. He would have had the way they shoot on his well hidden bottle.
So change it.
Why don't players mix their penalties up? If they mix them up, then keepers are always left guessing.
I agree. Fair play to Steele. He done his homework. But surely Newport should have noticed the same thing I did, and changed the way they take them.If Steele noted how 5 NEWPORT players took their penalties, then credit to him, If he couldn't trust Maupay et al to beat them in 120 minutes that is....

Or practice, and take action whenever it occurs, taking penalties and hitting them all over.
Youd have info on almost all players as you never know the order. Pickford said as much about the world cup shoot outs. How often do penalty takers number 6 & 7 take them for Steele to have info on them?
Don't even know why I didnt finish the sentence. Other than a huge distraction due to something happening at home.??
One way of making sure the keeper can't save them, but I'm not sure it's ultimately going to be successful!!!![]()

I thought the shoot out was the most entertaining part of the game. Some magnificent saves from both keepers and Steele redeemed himself after his error that cost them the normal time win. What an awful penalty shoot out. And how could Newport not spot something with Steele?

Newcastle are increasingly looking like Fulham's best chance of staying up so let's hope they get an equaliser.Shedd UTd a few minutes from their first win of the season in the PL
The Blades got the best of the ref's decisions.Shedd UTd a few minutes from their first win of the season in the PL
Cherries Down to 3rd.Bmouth 1-0 'Wall
Going 2nd as things stand.....
Cherries Down to 3rd.
Millwall equalise
Ahead of them on PPG now then.......but still behind Swansea.......think we might need to keep an eye on this 'table'....FT
Bournemouth 1-1 Millwall
Muff 1 point ahead of us but we have a game in hand.
Frustratingly, 3 points against Brizzle City would have put us 2nd on PPG too.Ahead of them on PPG now then.......but still behind Swansea.......think we might need to keep an eye on this 'table'....
If results go the right way in the next week, we could go second without playing a game.Frustratingly, 3 points against Brizzle City would have put us 2nd on PPG too.
2 goals, amazing goals from a 17 year old on the left wing last night vs Charlton. He made Charlton’s experienced RB Chris Gunter look pretty sillyIn the absence of our games, I’m keeping an eye on Rochdale for goals. 7 in the last 2 games. Unfortunately they can’t defend, and only have 2 points to show for them! Highly entertaining though...
His cross did Pinnock for the Spurs goalGreat goal from Spurs. Incredible delivery from Reguilon. If Rico could add that to his game, he'd be a regular for England...
It did. He's very quick as well. A really good signing for Spurs...His cross did Pinnock for the Spurs goal
there is a bbc mini doc on i player about him becoming a pro at 33 ( nearly 34)I loved that Crawley even brought on Mark Wright from TOWIE to really take the piss.
