That 5 minutes injury time was a tough watch. Every time we got the ball we gave it straight back to them to have another go. Glad that's over with the points on the board.

That was great. Played football in the first half and defended for our lives after the break. Sorensen will be fine and maybe Pontus needs a rest to recover full fitness and sharpness.

Janelt is a real find and Jensen rolled his sleeves up.

Mbeumo might also have a knock but we looked quick and sharp up front.

Toney. Wow. Just wow!

A solid 3 points.

All played well. Especially Dalsgaard, Sorensen, Henry, Janelt and Toney.

Just hope the injuries won’t affect us too much.

Superb performance pity we did not get another 2 goals. SG and VJ were excellent. Mads did well too. Henry is a class act. Toney deservedly MOM

Starting to come together. You can see the work that has been going on on the training ground. Huge credit to TF and coaching staff again. Very promising again from Ghoddos and Janelt and beyond promising from Toney!!

Nice win - Wednesday could only hoof it in the end. Well earned winners of all the points here.

Impressed by Janelt and gives us another option when Norgaard is back. Playing them together in some more physical games will make us much harder to break down.

Top results tonight, the last 2 games Jenson has been on fire. Hopefully Goode is almost fit as the cover in that area is a bit week now. If we play like we did first half most weeks Toney could get 30 plus.

Really happy with that. Easy to be picky about things we could have done better, but away from home at a northern outpost with our captain off injured it was a great effort and result.

Whilst we were patchy in the second half and they came at us, I can’t remember at save Raya had to make?

All things being equal we can only get better!

Excellent 3 points which showed we can both play lovely football and dig in when required. Suspect Pontus might be out for a few weeks but there is another international break in 4 weeks time which should help.

Toney superb but thought everyone played well to be honest - Janelt looks a good find and hopefully we wont miss Norgaard as much as first feared

Good game and some great play from the Bees. MOTM undoubtedly Toney but Henry, Dalsgaard and Janelt were also very good.

A little clip from Sky just before the ads there, showing Thomas gesticulating wildly with his players, showing exactly what he wanted. You see Monk staring at him sheepishly, thinking "fk me, this bloke knows what he's doing".

Great alround performance, everybody played their part. I know Toney will get most of the plaudits but my MOTM was Pinnock, he was immense. Won absolutely everything in the air and on the ground. Nice to see the new boys, Ghoddos and Janelt, make healthy contributions as well.
Hope that makes you feel better HaylingBee. Get well soon.

...good 3 points...only slight concern...where would the goals come from without IT......please stay fit.
The least of my concerns. FYI in the squad we also have a red hot striker of a Nordic persuasion. Might be worth checking his stats to calm your nerves

Great win there in the end. Should probably have been out of sight at HT, played some fantastic football. Then with the players going off we had to sit back and defend for a lot of the second half. Wed were v poor though, the much worried about pressing was inconsistent and toothless and we dealt with it easily, jensen at one point nutmegging a player to get round it.. The longer the 2nd half went on the more Wed just hoofed it into the box and we lapped it up. You got the feeling the only way they were going to score was from a mistake and whilst we gave the ball away a little too much at times we never looked like giving the equaliser up..

Janelt was quiet first half but grew into it and looks like he'll be an able deputy for Norgaard whilst he's out, Jensen and DaSilva worked their arses off in midfield but also played some lovely football. The back four did v well apart from Pontus' error in the first half, Mads dropped in perfectly and was totally untroubled. Mbuemo looked lively first half and was unlucky not to score..

Then you've got the two 'replacements'.. A Sheff W fan on twitter earlier said; 'Brentford have lost their two best players, they're there for the taking...' Well suck this up! We've got Toney, who was an absolute monster, worked his arse off, won practically everything up front, got into brilliant positions and laid the ball off majestically. Then we've got Ghoddos, who's clearly still way off full fitness but floated into dangerous spaces all game and picked out some incredible defence splitting passes. I think we're going to be alright... :sorted:

Huge credit to Frank and co, we've got our shape back and we defended like we wanted it and fully deserved the three points.. Bring on Stoke!

Great team performance, had to dig deep at the end when they went long

Toney was my MOM but a few others weren't far off. Not just for taking his 2 goals well but his work rate, layoffs flicks & hold up play were immense

always good result if you win away. Curate's egg performance where we were dominated for longish spells although they only had one real chance. They are an awkward side and it was good to have a strong body in front of our back line [ Janelt]. We need to get our wide men fitter to provide better protection on the flanks but that will come with games.
Toney. Well IMO he's better than Ollie . Amazing. We've upgraded on Ollie. Josh was magnifecent again.
Seem to be racking up knocks at the mo.

Bench looks pretty thin to me!

With two games a week all teams will pick up knocks, strength in depth will be key this season and I think we’ve now got it.

If Pontus And Norgaard are out for the next few weeks and we still pick up a decent haul of points thats got to breed confidence in the squad and show we’ve improved again...last year we couldn’t cope with even one of them injured.

Top top result. Usually don't get much there.
To be fair to Monk*, he had obviously worked out a plan after the 5-0 at GP. And with more of his own players in by now, they were better placed to give it a go.

Still wasn't enough, mind...

* - Not a phrase I have frequent cause to employ, I might add. ;)

Found their commentary team rather annoying especially when SW got near our box.

From BBC website: " a Bees performance full of creativity, bright attacking football and a constant goal threat..."

Thought they were pretty poor really, especially towards the end when they just lumped it into the box and Mads and Ethan lapped it up. They had one spell in the first half where they tried to play a little but we generally looked pretty comfortable.

That game taken In isolation, then fair enough.

I was thinking more in the context of the 5-0.

Either way, we're a different class to them, that's for sure.

Great win. So good to see us grinding a result out. So many good performances as others have said but special praise for Sergi - really put in an intelligent shift when he came on.
Hope you are feeling a bit better Hayling

Toney is an absolute beast. Immense.
I agree, but my mom goes to Rico Henry he was stunning tonight. We played against a good side, and all of the team dealt with it well in the main. Shades of us last season, the best we have played so far this season.

Really? Mads and Fosu have just played for their countries!
It's about having been at an English club for 3 years before they were 21. Not 100% sure re Mads on that one tbh, but think Fosu does count? There's a thread on it somewhere on the GPG
