That 5 minutes injury time was a tough watch. Every time we got the ball we gave it straight back to them to have another go. Glad that's over with the points on the board.
What was Jingly like?Janelt did much better second half I felt he showed for the ball more. Will be very good in the long run.
Pulled off a good one in the first half.Really happy with that. Easy to be picky about things we could have done better, but away from home at a northern outpost with our captain off injured it was a great effort and result.
Whilst we were patchy in the second half and they came at us, I can’t remember at save Raya had to make?
All things being equal we can only get better!
The least of my concerns. FYI in the squad we also have a red hot striker of a Nordic persuasion. Might be worth checking his stats to calm your nerves...good 3 points...only slight concern...where would the goals come from without IT......please stay fit.
Doh - just realised its Wednesday today !Yeah but can they do it on a cold Tuesday night in Sheffield?
Bench looks pretty thin to me!
With two games a week all teams will pick up knocks, strength in depth will be key this season and I think we’ve now got it.always good result if you win away. Curate's egg performance where we were dominated for longish spells although they only had one real chance. They are an awkward side and it was good to have a strong body in front of our back line [ Janelt]. We need to get our wide men fitter to provide better protection on the flanks but that will come with games.
Toney. Well IMO he's better than Ollie . Amazing. We've upgraded on Ollie. Josh was magnifecent again.
Seem to be racking up knocks at the mo.
To be fair to Monk*, he had obviously worked out a plan after the 5-0 at GP. And with more of his own players in by now, they were better placed to give it a go.Top top result. Usually don't get much there.
Thought they were pretty poor really, especially towards the end when they just lumped it into the box and Mads and Ethan lapped it up. They had one spell in the first half where they tried to play a little but we generally looked pretty comfortable. To be fair to Monk*, he had obviously worked out a plan after the 5-0 at GP. Still wasn't enough, mind...
* - Not a phrase I have frequent cause to employ, I might add.![]()
That game taken In isolation, then fair enough.Thought they were pretty poor really, especially towards the end when they just lumped it into the box and Mads and Ethan lapped it up. They had one spell in the first half where they tried to play a little but we generally looked pretty comfortable.
My best wishes to you for a full and speedy recovery, HaylingBee, I hope that result has started you on your way.I like our team, unfortunately I had stroke earlier today and will follow the game thru here from hospital
I agree, but my mom goes to Rico Henry he was stunning tonight. We played against a good side, and all of the team dealt with it well in the main. Shades of us last season, the best we have played so far this season.Toney is an absolute beast. Immense.
sergi, pinnock, raya, henry, DaSilva, Toney, Mads, Fosu probably?I’ve lost track. Is there a minimum no. of home grown players needed on the pitch at any one time? Does Sergi count as one?
Really? Mads and Fosu have just played for their countries!sergi, pinnock, raya, henry, DaSilva, Toney, Mads, Fosu probably?
It's about having been at an English club for 3 years before they were 21. Not 100% sure re Mads on that one tbh, but think Fosu does count? There's a thread on it somewhere on the GPGReally? Mads and Fosu have just played for their countries!
