that goode lol lol have we got any other options for the norwich game please ??
I remember many saying the same about pinnock last season.

Occasionally we get one who is not as good as we hoped but rarely do we buy a complete dud so dont worry about it, he will be ok with some games.

BM has been awful today.

Maybe 442 is the plan B? Much better.
Are you mad? We are only allowed to play 4-3-3 at all times and any deviation to that is evidence that the manager who took us to our highest league finish in 50+ years is out of his depth.

Hate to say this but Canos should not be in starting 11.
weve gone backwards by having him starting nearly every game.......the first half v weds without him was so much better.......he might says he loves brentford but the love isnt exactly reciprical thesedays

Very frustrating to see this second half performance. Bemused as to why we felt the need to change formation for this game and go so defensive.

Stoke have been pretty comfortable throughout. We cannot have been surprised by their approach. Very similar to last season. They know we struggle against the press and if we go behind we rarely come back to get the points.

Much better 2nd half, Forss is the back up striker that can help change games that we’ve been desperate for for years

There might have been reasons we don't know for three at the back but it was a mistake - simple as!

ask our manager..........he seems to think its the way forward......hes gone way downhill with me after this......how many more times are we going to hear 'we will learn from it etc etc blah blah blah.........we have litterally thrown points away with his tactical debacle

Appalling tactical decision for the first half. Brilliant from Forss in the second and reasonable recovery from TF. Hopefully 343 is binned now.

Well, we discovered an effective play B by accident, as the planned one in the first half was so sh*t.

Next time we play a team like Stoke, renowned for high press & niggle, in the words of the great Mike Bassett, "WE WILL PLAY FOUR, FOUR F***ING TWO!!!!".

Frank just got it wrong first half. Had set us up far too conservative and we didn't have a midfield.

Made some positive changes at the break and Jensen made a big impact, great goals from Forss too. Their third was the sickener as Raya probably should have saved it. Better second half but I'm not sure I see us as a better side than last season.

At least one positive thing has become come out of this game: If we're losing then playing Toney and Forss together is clearly a great option. A better plan B than 5 at the back. Will TF ever give up on that system, which has failed, failed, and failed again?

Apart from the last 20 mins It's been abysmal to watch, We now have the joint 3rd worst Goals Against record now, we are leaking like a sieve, that's the area that needs sorting, Foss needs to start in place of Canos, and Goode is not good, we are supposed to favorites for promotion, play like this and we will be lucky to finish in the top half.

At least the team showed spirit in the end. Looking forward to the inquest and lessons to be learned.

Just posing the question and just a thought could Toney and Forss play up front together with Forss possibly play wide left

I didn’t watch the game today but think it’s a bit much stating that Goode (pardon the pun) isn’t good enough. How fit is he? Has he played any B team game since his injury?

I am taking one thing from today.

Forss is a goal machine and has to play. But he can’t replace Toney. So there is only one option.

My thought for the day.
They just played together, need to look seriously at including both.

Could be many reasons behind the scenes why we went with that starting line up, but if it was out of respect for Stoke or looking to match up and negate their strengths I hope we go down a similar route again.

Did we? At 3-2 we were trying to punt the ball into the box, when it was pretty clear that if we'd done what we normally do and pass the ball forward, that we could have got something out of the game. Total lack of energy and ambition, apart from Forss. Very frustrating and I've now got a major headache.

Yup play 2 up front and work from there. So 442 or 4132 or with Rico playing wingback when we have the ball & LB when we dont

As commentary suggested the game was lost in the first 45 where I believe Goode didn't look fit and Sorenson was highlighted by his lack of pace. Definite improvement in the 2nd half but I wonder how many players are carrying niggles and minor injuries. Hoped for a draw before the game but Stoke always have the strength and direct approach to inflict damage on us. We roll onto Tuesday. Well done Marcus on 2 well taken goals.

How Canos plays every week I dont know. Other than Toney our 3 other signings look average at best. Needed to spend a little bigger on the incomings. Totally managers fault today, should have accepted the 10 million for Raya and bought somebody in that doesnt makes the mistake he does.

At least we have learned that Toney and Forss can be effective playing together. Maybe try Bryan on the left too, he might get more shots away there. Defending throughout was very poor. Onto Tuesday, good job the games come so fast to keep your feet on the ground/get back on your feet depending on the previous result.

The second half has been a nice reminder that we are a good football team.
Chalk and cheese this game.

Shocking first half, and baring the goal, so much better in the second.

As a coach TF suits our model perfectly; our model is like a football factory. What I mean is we identify players as a club and through conditioning, one to one coaching, team coaching and individual plans bring the standard of that player up with the ultimate aim of making a huge profit on them. TF's background is underage coaching and you see this in how we develop players. To be successful and get over the line a head coach needs to have the tactical nous to change systems, react to ingame situations and have the ability to react. Now TF is so important to our model we can't afford to lose him but I do wonder if we need to identify another assistant coach with some experience and tactical knowledge to help. Stevie Gerrard brought Gary McAllister with him to Rangers; Gerrard gets all the credit but McAllister is the tactical brains in the background. We aren't learning in the Preston, Stoke games which shows something isn't right.

Lets try and get Forss and Toney together. Are there any free agent CB available.
Let's not write off Charlie Goode just yet. Not exactly the easiest game to make your debut in after an injury and playing in some weird hybrid centre back/full back role.

Get a grip, he kept us in the game mid week, today he was done by poor defending and a deflected goal,.
