Charlie Goode's lack of match practice showed he was not fit and that showed in his performance. Unfortunately, the change of tactics backfired on TF where Sorensen's lack of pace and Goode's lack of fitness exposed Brentford with Desilva the only midfilelder of consequence in the first half 45.
Stoke nearly always do a number on us.

Any reason we couldn’t have started Toney and Forss together, rather than being negative and picking another defender?

So just to clarify what our supporters here want:
Drop/Transfer list:
Goode, Canos, Janson, Raya,Jensen, Marcondes, Dalsgaard, Mbuemo and the manager Thomas Frank..........have I missed anybody else?

We got beat, perhaps TF got the team wrong, and we are not top of the league. Christ you would think we are in total disarray and facing relegation reading a lot of this commentary above.
A little bit of realism might help....we aren’t a bad side, I and many others do not think we are or ever were nailed on promotion candidates, but we do play football which is beyond what a lot of us have experienced in many years and we have a strong squad but not as strong as last year plus a heavy load of injuries at the moment.
All the above players have been praised, even labelled M.O M this season.
Lighten up for crying out loud!

TF messed up tactically in the first half but the players made silly errors and really set us back.. Forss two excellent strikes .. Janelt and Jensen did okay

So why was he picked then.Letting Jeanvier go out on loan, coupled with Pontus’s well documented injury record has created a problem.Remember Pinnock didn’t look comfortable when asked to play on the left of a back 5 last year.

JJ wanted to be a first XI pick. So he wasn’t going to stay here to be 3rd choice.

If Goode was the best we could get......mmmm

If he indeed was not fit he should not have been selected in my opinion but we don't know what other niggles and knocks some players may be carrying in the squad.

Except we should be top two at the end of the season with this squad. I am pretty laid back about poor performances, they happen and I know everyone makes mistakes but the first half today was awful and that was purely down to an unnecessary tactical change. I like TF but he has to own this one.

Total humiliation averted. but tactically outhought outmaneuvered and outplayed
Disagree we were out thought and outmaneuvered... We beat ourselves with that first half shambles.. We should have changed it after the first goal... Why wait until half time? Thats something i admire about Bielsa he will make a sub after 10 minutes if he can see its needed.

Goode is being given a tough time on here, righty so for his performance today where he looked L2. But Im hoping given his lack of pace, he's not fully fit so shoud be given the benefit of the doubt. He will improve but given the two game a week season ahead, he might not get the luxury of being played in slowly. At least a few positives from the final 30 minutes inc Forss...what a finisher he is turning out to be.

IMHO, there were two errors of judgement from Thomas: 1. deciding to match Stoke with 3 or 5 at the back; 2. deciding that Goode should start. Whether he's not fit/not got matches under his belt is a bit academic when there were so many basic defending errors. Trying to hold on for half time when it was clearly chaos was Thomas' error, though. He was caught between a rock and a hard place deciding to take Sørensen off to balance left and right-footed centre backs. As a number have said, the lack of right-footed cover is biting us.

We just looked so much better going back to 4-3-3 with a playmaker, our hero Jensen, and Mbeumo getting in behind... until they plugged the gap. We're also weak in the wide attack department as Canós is an impact sub, not a starter. It's not the end of the world at this stage of the season but it's very depressing.

How Canos plays every week I dont know. Other than Toney our 3 other signings look average at best. Needed to spend a little bigger on the incomings. Totally managers fault today, should have accepted the 10 million for Raya and bought somebody in that doesnt makes the mistake he does.
You really are the most reactionary poster on this site which takes some going. Janelt looks a good buy and has done well stepping into the team earlier than expected, Ghoddos looks average? Wasn't good today but again, a new player adjusting to a new league and new country and new team mates - we go through this every season and yet people like you still trot out the same moans every season and then when the players turn out to actually be pretty good, get upset when they're sold.

I'll grant you Goode has looked nothing but a back up CB so far but again, injuries will have hurt him and is another that needs time. As for Raya I have no words for you.

I saw the logic of 343 given the lack of midfielders. I was obviously wrong but it did seem a bit of a horror show by the centre backs and the right wing back which didn't help TF at all - he probably hoped for better from them. Probably won't see it again.

The local dry cleaners will be really busy tonight cleaning all the sheets.

I said before the game and will say again now...we ha e to find a way of beating these teams and I would rather we tried something and failed them watch another 1.0 defeat with 1 shot against us all game and a ref letting them kick the ball away all game.

it didn’t work, but I wasn’t disappointed when I saw the team sheet.

On chances we had enough penalty shouts and half chances to have e for something but we didn’t.

Let’s not do it again and try 442. BM getting some pelters but IMO he will still score 10 goals. Canos won’t. I think ghoddos looks the part.

Horrible day, but we always bounce back.

All this talk of the squad not being big enough and players not good enough, have a ****ing night off will you.

The two horrid defeats this season are down to good players having sh*t games, no more, no less.

I am checking out as I can’t read too much of this bollox tonight.

When I saw this line up I thought it was ok and worth a go playing the 3 at the back ( as we have previously and been successful)Thought with Vitaly alongside Josh we would have a more physical presence. The problem was the very poor performances by Goode Pinnock and Dalsgaard who were all out muscled makes me think would it have been any different had we gone back to our normal shape. We still conceded when we changed for the second half.Fact was Goode had a dreadful league debut and will need need time to get used to the step up from Div 2 remember Pinnock getting slated when he first joined and was kept out by JJ.Some very poor performances today but still only lost by the odd goal in 5.Dalsgaard was superb wednestay but he looked knackered today as I feel like a lot of players this gruelling schedule is taking it’s toll. Not the end of the world but at least Gpg Facebook and Twitter will get some traction tonight from the entitled experts.Yaaaaaawwwwwnnn

The line up and the formation are the responsibility of the management. They see the overall picture throughout the week re- injuries, players’ strengths/weaknesses and opposition tactics. It is their livelihood and they use their skills to do what they see best and ultimately answer to MB for their decisions.
I would suggest that they know more about these issues than you...in spite of you saying/implying that they don’t. I notice that you are one of the main proponents for trashing the players I listed too and again I wonder how your CV would fair up against the present Team Manager.
Why get so uptight and continue castigating our players when we lose?
