My reasoning for some of these selections are as followed;
Newton looks more assured defensively than Halls and I think Halls is too valuable to the team not to play.
Bean hasn't done enough for me to warrant a place over Kev. In our two best performances, Kev and Pead played together in the midfield. Pead was also MoTM at Wycombe before he got dropped (ok, i know he was poor v luton but the whole team were below average). Kev is being treated badly by Scott at the moment. Wouldn't blame him for walking. He could walk into most League One teams.
Williams over Ademola purely because I feel Saturday is a game where experienced heads are needed. A big test. He was very poor at Aldershot up front but it would be unfair to drop Moses in it on Saturday (a la Carson v Croatia). Plus we need attacking options on the bench other than wingers.

Rochdale on Saturday is a big big game. It could be the catalyst for our entire season based upon how we react to tonights result. Let's hope for all 3 points, ay..

Why isn't Bean playing.

Bean and O'Connor are too similar. And O'Connor and Pead played well together earlier in the season. Bean has shown flashes of brilliance but is just very frustrating to watch. In my opinion, Kev can do his job and better.

I would play KoC as we need some experience to steady the ship after tonight, he played well on the wing against Yeovil and if we need more presence up front he and Marvin could switch.

Big game, eventual defeat was inevitable but its the reaction that matters.

I'm yet to be convinced by Halls. Although he does show occasional much needed skill in being able to do a pass that takes an opposition player out of the game, at times he seems far too casual. He gave away the foul that led to their goal on Saturday and at times I think is so casual that I am waiting for the next mistake or for someone to pinch the ball off him.

If it's true that he has only come here to put himself in the shop window then I don't see why we should do him any favours if he is not putting in the effort demanded and that our other midfielders or right backs put in - possibly just his style, but I don't think he warrants his place in the team. It can't be too good for morale either. Other loan players look like they care about the team and result (our centre backs and keeper) but I don't see the same for him. Must be galling for other sub players see him in the side playing half heartedly and not being able to get in themselves. Is he that good - after all, no one else took him when they had the opportunity?

Poole just behind shooting when he can, we dont seem to be scoring at the moment play to our strengths, Poole long range efforts, and poole slips passes through for Mac. KOC to bring effort/tackle/good distribution.

wouldn't surprise you, I'll be livid if we don't. Marvin Williams is NOT a striker, just because you can run fast, doesn't mean you can pop it in the onion bag. Moses is a 20min sub man at best, so therefore we are left with Charlie Mac up front, sort that out AS.

Feel that unless injured Pead should return to the team as a) we know the extent of his abilities b) He has played in the position well untill be dropped for no good reason that I could see c) when he was in midfield we actually passed the ball more d) due to c we looked a more dangerous team.

No doubt there will be many who will disagree however we have, in my opinion, been getting worse as a footballing team and often it is luck that has got us through the games ( lost track of the number of balls cleared off the line) This deterioration tends to have started when Pead was dropped, may be coincidence but all his replacements have failed with the latest, Halls, being the most noticable and probably the most dissappointing in view of his abilities.

I think Halls is a tremendous footballer but he is one of the worst CMs I have ever seen. We've had evidence of this a few times now and I can't believe he will start there for us again unless we have a very long injury list. Two players that worry me when they are selected are KOC and Pead but I'd rather have either ahead of Halls in the middle.
