Now things are a little clearer..... here's what I'd go with:

Raya
Fosu Goode Pinnock Henry
Norgaard
Dasilva Jensen
Mbeumo Toney Ghoddos

If Goode isn't fit, then play Sorensen. PJ needs an extended break. As does Henrik, hence Fosu at right back.
If Norgaard is not fit then play Marcondes/Baptiste/Janelt - but however you slice it this will leave us quite a bit weaker.

I think we ought to stick with and persist with that front line for a good run of matches now.

I understand your thinking but chucking Goode and Fosu into a Championship match as a pairing would be suicide.

Are Norgaard and Rico fit?

If Ghoddos isn't ready to start then Fosu.

Fosu is not championship level full back

Could be, but can't see it being any more risky than the combination of Henrik and Pontus currently.

Are Norgaard and Rico fit?
Don't know. If not we will surely struggle again.

I’d go with Jensen over Marcondes but agree on the other 10.

That's the team for me assuming everyone is fit (y) however I suspect Canos will start in place of Ghoddos as we look to integrate him slowly and build up to match fitness

I suspect so too. But the analysis of Canos was pretty damning on his positioning and link up with Thompson

Yep Ghoddos would be my preference but if Rico is back it could help Sergi as he is far more forward orientated than Thompson

As expected, first half things were generally fine or better, but he tired second half, which is not really surprising given his year out. 'Damining' is harsh in my view. He would still make my team! This would be:

Raya
Henrik Pontus Pinnock DJ (if no Rico)
Josh Christian (please please be fit!) Jensen (only because he is better than Marcondes and Janelt is not ready!)
Mbuemo Toney Canos

Difficult to pick without knowing who's fit.. Assuming Henry and Norgaard are available..

Raya, Dalsgaard, Pontus, Pinnock, Henry, Norgaard, DaSilva, Marcondes, Ghoddos, Toney, Mbuemo

Subs: Daniels, Thompson, Goode/Sorenson, Jensen, Canos, Fosu, Forss

Ghoddos won't last the full 90 but needs the games so play him for as much as poss and then bring on one of Canos/Fosu. Bit of a toss up between Marcondes and Jensen. With Benhrama gone, secondary wide options are quite uninspiring for me, wonder whether we'll eventually see a slight change of tactics with the two 'wide attackers' playing a bit more central?

When Canos first played for us did he play on the left or right? Before his injury last season he was very effective on the right so maybe Mbeumo could be tried on the left

Our style is to play 'inverted wingers' though, expecting them to come inside between full back and centre back, overloading in the box and allowing the full back to overlap outside for crossing.

That's because you seem to have completely forgotten Bryan Mbuemo....

Jansson is going to need a rest at some point so let's keep him on his toes and stick Goode in, if fit. Ghoddos can come on for the last 30 and then get a full start against Sheff Wed. I can't fit Baptiste in which is a sign of our depth.

I just wish we could get back the Mbeumo from a year or so ago.
Sure we'll see him v soon, was starting to look back on it before the Preston game. EVERYONE was off their game though in that one (with the exception of JDS). Reckon we'll see a big reaction this weekend.. Certainly wouldn't drop him...

Someone said Goode was injured, is he better now? No Centre Back on the Bench?

Don't know how the injured are fairing or how seriously trainings going but how about giving a chance to those not quite making the team at the moment.Would encourage them and give the internationals a rest and maybe a kick up the arse.

I realise you have said you don't know the injury update. However you could be missing half a team there. Makes selection obvious. Some will have been playing internationals. We don't have enough cover to rest those players.

This is presuming that none of the injured are back and SB has gone. I am hoping last game was a blip in how we played. The only players I am not having doubts about are Raya, Pinnock, Dasilva and Toney. Of the subs Forss I believe makes few critical errors, but would start with TOney. Let's hope and pray that we see top, top performaces, or some of the injured are no longer injured.

It’s pointless proposing a team for Saturday as none of us know who is or will be fit - and that includes the club!

I would love to pick a line up but since i'm not fully familiar with the other players i'm not qualified to do so. All i can say is that Ghoddos is already on his way back to London, he posted a picture on his instagram. so he should be in london already if i'm not mistaken or at the very last tomorrow but i reckon it will be tonight. A nice recovery and some training with the team will do him good to get ready for the game.

I do think Ghoddos can use as many minutes as possible to get going and reach his best asap. But i predict a sub for ghoddos early second half just because he's come back from international duty and because the team has been training together for the past couple of days and are ready to go.. replacing someone just like that will not give that person the confidence since he's putting in all the effort in training already. Unless Ghoddos shows he is a level up from that person. We'll see, in hope for a sweet win!

If Norgaard is not fit, there is no way I want to see Jensen operating in that position again. The problem is that our options there are very limited, as I doubt whether Janelt is ready to step in. We might possibly drop Dasilva back there, or perhaps we could consider bringing in Sorensen and playing Pinnock just in front of the back four?

reports JDS picked up a knock for the U’21s, Mbeumo needs to up his output, but granted HD and MJ will most probably start

Jensen or Marcondes can happily do that role at home to Coventry. We're more likely to be on the front foot and they won't press us anywhere near as well as Preston did. Remember we played with Jensen, DaSilva and Marcondes against Fulham and coped v well. I suspect the Sunday was a bit of a game too far for many players after a v short summer break and we were a bit blown away by Preston's intensity second half. Pretty much everyone had a mare but we could well have been three up at half time. I certainly wouldn't want to go into the Stoke away game without Norgaard or an equivalent though..

If we go this formation which is very possible given lack of central midfield players will not be Dalsgaard
at right wing back but Canos or Fosu

likely back three being HD Pontus and Pinnock. Front three being Mbeumo Toney and Ghoddos . Although as they would play narrower Mbeumo and Ghoddos would also drop slightly deeper

Bentley, Logan, Konsa, Mephem, Bidwell, Woods, Sawyers, Watkins, Gray, Maupay, Benrahma. Might have to play 4-2-4 but boy - some serious inbound money there!
