It is vital that we get a win after the Stoke result.

This would be my team although I expect a few to disagree as there are a couple of unorthodox choices:

Raya
Fosu Dalsgaard Pinnock Henry
Mbeumo Dasilva Jensen Ghoddos
Toney Forss

Many will remember the 7-0 win before they changed manager last year. But a reminder that we lost there last season and they have won 4 of their first 7 games. Not an easy contest at all.

It is vital that we get a win after the Stoke result. A week to recover too so everyone who played today should be fit.

Why are you picking a team V Luton when we have to play Norwich City at home 1st on Tuesday evening

I used to love Canos but we really cant start him at the moment, needs a few games off the bench and get a goal or assist. Feel sorry for Fosu, he has to start. Wouldnt mind trying 442 with Forss & Toney up top or revert back to 433 and go

I don't think the response to an experiment with a different formation that goes very wrong should be another experiment with different one, so back to 433 for me:

Assuming everyone is fit, I would start the team that began against Wednesday with Goode replacing Pontus.

I think Sergi is ideal as a sub, he looks better coming into a game late than Mbuemo does.

To not give Marcus a start after 2 goals when coming on with 70 minutes gone would be more than cruel. He must be rewarded properly and play until his performance suggests he needs a rest.

My only change to your team would be Janelt for Ghoddos ,You could argue Thompson for Left Back and Henry as Right Back . I’ve yet to see what Ghoddos offers. Like Canos his better role could be a place on the bench and coming on as a late sub

If our preferred 433 and usual first choicers (as available) can’t be played at home against Norwich we might as well give up!

Raya
Dalsgaard Pinnock Sorensen Henry
Jensen Janelt JDS
Mbeumo Toney Canos

That looks about right for me, except I agree with an earlier poster that Dalsgaard will be knackered, so maybe Thompson there.

Don't think young Forss will start, even after today. Safety of 433 for a home game and I doubt Norwich will come to spoil. However, that 442 against the spoilers in future games is most definitely an option. Definitely take Goode out of the firing line after today and give Canos a chance with 20 minutes left as required.

If Forss is only going to be backup for Toney, I can see him wanting to move, quite a few Championship clubs would want him.

They will both get their chance. Toney will not be playing all 90mins of the next 39 league games. I expect there will be games where they play together and others where they are the sole striker. Forss won't be going anywhere this season. I'm just pleased we've finally got a two top quality numbers 9s on our books. That can only be good for them pushing each other to be better, surely? (as well as giving us a viable 442 option)

Could well be a possibility with Forss and Toney alternating during the game but will be Mads or Goode instead of Henrik at Centre back

This, but Toney swapping for Pinnock. I honestly don't think you are playing enough players out of their natural position! Maybe we should try revolving goalkeepers!

Funny, but there are only 3 players in that line up that are not in their default position. And all three have played in those positions before. Maybe not Dalsgaard as a 1 of 2 CB.

Inverted wingers in a 4-4-2? No holding midfielder? It would be a disaster.

Raya
Dalsgaard Sorensen Pinnock Henry
DaSilva Janelt Jansen
Mbuemo Toney Fosu

Norwich will be a handful for us. I'd like to see Forss start with Toney in a front three. Sorry but IMO no start for Mbuemo. I can't see how his below par performances can continue to justify selection. Ghoddos or Fosu to take the wide slot up front. Mid three Josh Janelt and Jensen. Back 4 with Goode in at centre back alongside Pinnock. Henry and Dalsgaars at flanks.
When you have a two goal machines you get them both on the pitch.
You can say that we could lose width up front but let' s be honest our wide players haven't delivered.

There might occasionally be a case for playing one player out of their natural position when there is no good alternative, but playing three (two involving the defence) in the game after a formation change caused havoc, particularly with our defending, does not seem awfully sensible to me.

I like the look of this. I don't think either Goode or Sorenson did anything yesterday to boost their reputations, and Fosu has shown he can do a decent job of work at right-back. And I think now is the time to try out a Toney-Forss partnership up front. In the 20 minutes it was tried against Stoke, we scored twice.

A couple of defeats and lots of people seem to have lost their minds. But the people running our club won't have. No daft sudden formation changes, no playing wingers at full back or full backs at centre half or discarding new players after a couple of games. Do what we do best, a bit better luck with injuries, and the results will come.

Exactly, we played well at Wed and v Coventry. Didn't work out against a very tough Stoke side. Back to normal on Tuesday.

Raya, Dalsgaard, Goode, Pinnock, Henry, Janelt, DaSilva, Jensen, Ghoddos, Toney, Mbuemo

Subs: Daniels, Thompson, Sorenson, Hammar, Canos, Fosu, Forss.

Agreed, all this talk of changing the formation again, or completely rejigging the back line with Dalsgaard coming inside, Rico playing right back etc is madness.

433, and simply a case of Goode or Mads playing alongside Pinnock. Stick to what we know.

Just think it's insane to play two players out of position, one of whom has only ever played there before once in his life, against one of the favourites for promotion...
he played well in that one game.......and that was against premiership oppo ;)

well, it was Fulham...... He did ok but made a fair few mistakes he got away with (which was understandable). Wouldn't risk it in a league game when we've got a Danish international who can play there..

Three players out of position given he seems to have Forss playing on the left of a front three.

Fosu at RB, what because he played there in a cup game 2nd string?
