What? Come on Les. Play fair.
@hobbsy explained how it works, there really is nothing more to add. This is mature software with a search engine that functions in a normal manner so there's not a problem to be fixed. I have run a few searches with normal results returned.

OK, no problem then. Wasn't aware that hobbsy's post was meant to be a full stop. If it can't be improved, it can't be improved. No problem at all. I'm genuinely not being awkward, so sorry if it came over as a complaint. It wasn't meant to be. Maybe I was trying to be too smart for my own good with the wording. Mea culpa. Got to say, though, hate how you guys pop up from nowhere like this as if to close ranks in seeing off the enemy. As for banana, words fail me. I'm going for a time out now.

When you say you hate how we pop up, @hobbsy answered your query, I was working but checked when I finished and couldn't find a problem. What do you think we've done wrong exactly?

and he got an alternative way of searching using Google. "Help" is now "seeing off the enemy".

I've always found searching with words used in the title to be effective, so yeah, as mentioned :) we'll need a real example in order to investigate further

Too many people talking sh*t about other people. Basically being used as a dump for all subjects by some people when they were advised or encouraged to avoid them and are now getting close to wearing our their goodwill here.

Seems a shane as it is by far the most popular thread on chit chat in terms of replies. Do you think it will get reopened after a cooling down period?

I'm not sure that such general, widely-scoped threads have a place.

Why not discuss specific topics rather then have a hiding place for the boring ****ers .

I don't believe that I have ever said that. And, more specifically, I have never suggested that we have only two threads on the GPG entitled

1. Things you Like
2. Things you Hate

It doesn't really make sense. Does it?!

Things that Annoy You was started as a fairly light hearted thread about al sorts of various things - now it's a whine fest hijacked by a few people and is almost entirely humourless. I had no part in closing it down btw - just my opinion.

No, I didnt think you yourself ever said it to be fair but definitely a mod had in the past. It hasn't even occured to me that it is a humourless thread but if you chaps see it that way then fair enough.

Hi GPG Admins,

Just a suggestion here - i use "casinomeister" online forum, im pretty sure you use the same forum providers. (Casinomeister's Forum: Largest Online Casino Community Since 1998)

they use a very cool function that at the home page with all the threads/sections, it has a box at the top for "last 10 updated threads" or whatever as seen below.

I was wondering if its possible on this forum? Even on a trial basis? I really like the feature as do others on the CM forum. (they all moaned when the admin turned it off post an upgrade).

Just a thought. Thanks for listening.

I've just spent a couple of minutes trying to work out how a GPGer has enough time to create so many posts. I started to look him up on the Members list.

Then I realised that Mark Read wasn't a person.

Doh!

Probably the Luddite that I am. In the mobile site I wanted to send a pm to a member, no longer a regular poster. Didn’t seem to be easy & I’m not sure I’ve either successfully sent a message or that it’s private.

Just cos it was popular, doesn't mean it was any good.

Remember 'The Person Above You Game' thread?:sleep::sleep:

I don't think this is as straightforward as this. Check your own Profile Posts, someone has even posted their mobile number so must have thought it was private!

Profile posts were what was Visitor Messages on the old one.

Conversations are what was PM's, although in this system a conversation can be more than a 1:1

That would work fine if people just searched on each thread for the things they liked or hated. It could be further streamlined by having a single thread to cover both. Maybe you could call it Red and White Taverna Mode.
