But would Said have fitted with our style of play this season, which pro rata has delivered more points?
Who knows!
yes, without a doubt. The only difference this season is that we’re playing deeper, pressing less and allowing the opposition more possession. We’d have had way more impact on the counter with said in the team and I’d imagine we’d have seen more from the likes of Mbeumo too..

Do me a favour. Look at the goal he scored against Fulham. There is no one in our squad that can do that. The rebirth of Canos is nowhere near what Said can bring to the table. Merry Christmas!
And a happy New Year to you.

Watkins was outstanding today for a ten man Villa, great work rate and link up play but could have had a hat-trick but for poor finishing. Having said that, got three assists and MoTM...

At the minute i would have Watkins, IT may be the natural no9 but Watkins work rate and link up play is awesome. He just doesn't stop running the channels, pressing, linking and holding the ball up. IT can link it well but not as well (yet).

Even when we were under the cosh OW would bring the team up with his hold up and running. When IT brings this to the table then he will be the best.

I don’t have the stats to work it out,
But how many less goals have we scored in total this season compared to after the same amount of games last season?
Here you go. League games only, updated to include week 21 ( which in both seasons was a win against Cardiff).
2019/20
F32. A17. Position 7th Pts 33
2020/21
F34. A20. Position 4th Pts 38

(2019/20 includes 7-0 v Luton)

We’re a much more efficient team now- not piling on goals against teams we’ve already killed off but getting the goals to win and not letting negative teams grind out 1-0s against us.

So we have replaced Benrahma’s goals then.

Basically, and going back to the title of this thread, in numerical terms we have replaced Ollie with Ivan.
At this point, last season, Ollie had scored 13/32 league goals (41%). This season, Ivan has scored 16/34 (47%).
Said scored a total of 17 goals last season, but at this point had got 3/32 (9%).

I'm not sure how you do it but your scouting network is amazing ! You seem to uncover new talent every season after being pillaged by the big boys. Well Done!

Not pillaged mate. We virtually always sell on our terms both in terms of timing and money. This means replacements already identified and the difference in fees gets recycled to keep the project progressing relentlessly forward.
The fans understand this model well (now) so no sense of being at the mercy of predators, rather we see the ‘big boys’ inflated cash reserves as the source of financing our model and progress for the last 6 or 7 years.

It was probably a poor choice of words when I said pillaged. I realize you have get top dollar when you do sell & good on you ! Hopefully you get promoted this year and can keep the project progressing.

Didn't read it all, sure someone else has said it, but i don't think it's absolutely ludicrous (although it obviously is to an extent) to think there'll be England squads with Ivan and Ollie as two of the striker options in the coming years. Mental
