Rotation! We can keep them both fit and fresh, right through to the end of the season. In such a strategically vital position for this team, how good is that!

I don't think anyone is doubting what an exceptional player Norgaard is. It more how Janelt has come into the side and right now is undroppable. In that Newscatle game JDS was the best player on the pitch and Jensen has been excellent for us. Let's not forget how improved Ghoddos has been in recent games. It's a pleasant and good dilemma for TF. I am sure TF will make the right call between now and the end of the season.
Fully agree, we are now 20 games undefeated in which Janelt has started most of them, we are scoring goals for fun, the team has a great balance, why would you want to change it. Janelt is the first name on the team sheet imo. Think he could play alongside Norgaard and Dasilva if required, but as it stands Janelt is the man.

It’s quite incredible he’s played 26 times for us already. Shows how long Norgaard has been out for.

I truly believe if the season keeps going the way it is - the signing of this young man swung it. He’s been absolutely fantastic from the get go.

signing of the season.

I like the way he was so determined to score after his miss right at the start of the second half :fishing:

It’s a testament to what we have come to expect of Vitaly that he hasn’t had a post since the game! Once again he was defensively solid, braking up the play and making it hard for them to get at our area, whilst also always providing the ‘out’ ball and acting as the pivot under pressure to build out from the back.... crazy how reliable this lad has become!

Reading were very good last night and had the upper hand for the first hour. Resilient defending kept them out and provided the platform for the late victory. Janelt was at the heart of our success.

Reading's formation smothered him for large parts of the game but he put in some serious work and played his part as they tired and dropped off him. Die Maschine!

I think that such has been the significant impact of Janelt he must be up there for player of the season. This is a massive statement given some of the other players we have who have been exceptional ie Dasilva, Henry etc etc, but also Ivan Toney who is likely to break the 30 goal barrier in his first season. Such has been his contribution in replacing another great player out injured, I think he is the difference between us being top 2, not top 6. His part in the way things have unfolded this season cannot be underestimated, to the point where such an influential player like Norgaard has not been missed.

In addition, that becomes less noticeable, as each game passes.

I think Janelt has been great and for most teams an easy first teamer, I think he's deputised really well for Norgaard and has plugged a considerable gap in our squad. I do think that as good as he is, he does have some considerable faults that Norgaard doesn't and when both are fit it will be a case of Janelt missing out. For me Janelt can be too clumsy at times and rushes for the ball a bit too much, to the point where his positional sense and reading of the game becomes skewered. I think this season has been a bit of a double edged sword for him as whilst he's had plenty of gametime to showcase his talent and do pretty well and making a claim for a starting position, had Norgaard of been fit he would have been someone really good for Janelt's education especially in game when you're given tips and shouts from an onfield player.

I do think though if Norgaard is back fit Janelt will most likely play a more advanced role, maybe more of a box to box role to suit his tireless running, but won't be trusted as a defensive mid. It's interesting as it was pointed out on Bees Tactical podcast that most of his passes are sideways and backwards and this is noticeable when you watch him in game.

From an always trying to improve perspective there is a lot to learn for Vitaly and Norgaard will certainly show him a calmer and more clinical way of playing that deep position, but from the perspective of the season he has been great for us and would probably walk into most sides. It's not a bad "problem" to have

Extraordinary player. Just rolls through game after game with remarkable consistency. Keeps possession and delivers a pass no matter how tightly he’s pressed. Gets fouled and just gets up. Can pick a killer ball and score. All at 22, in his first year in a foreign league. Crazy when Ivan’s already a 25+ goal centre forward, but Vitaly is running him damn close for player of the season.

Scared me out of my wits the first few times he did it, but his “no look reverse passes” are incredible!!!
Will probably get caught out eventually, but (as with everything we do) it’s a game of %s.......

This lad is a talent, has energy, mobility, can pass and shoot, reads the game well in a very difficult position and has a rock solid temperament. Simply incredible to believe his tender years and that this is his first season in the Championship. He's been as vital to us as Ivan Toney. A midfield of him and Norgaard is something to savour.

Agree 100%... gives so many options and so much tactical flexibility: Perm any three from Jensen, Dasilva, Ghoddos, Mbeumo, Canos, Fosu, Forss, (you name 'em) to play with/off/to Ivan's strengths.

I think Ivan might just pip him.
Certainly best VFM
Agree and this lad will only get better and better. I just feel more confident of winning matches when Vitaly is in the team. Was a huge crucial goal today. Also we could finally give him some minutes off and bring on Norgaard.

Just immense in every third of the pitch. Having him and Norgaard is an embarrassment of riches!

The squad is coming together at the right time!
Really struggled first half as they tried to push him onto his weaker right foot and he ended up getting caught on the ball and going backwards. Second half we didn't mess about and moved it quicker and longer and that enabled him to get further forward. Fantastic goal just when we needed it. Got a bit of a rest too with Norgaard coming on..

I could watch his goal on loop all night.

What a find this young man is, incredible work by the DoFs and scouting team !!!
Yep, the DoFs have done a totally brilliant job over the last few years (notwithstanding the comments of some persistent critics  ) but Vitaly is the best yet IMO

He might need some rest over the next couple of weeks but I really hope the plan is to get him into the same team as Christian asap. It is clear he has the engine, desire and ability to play box-to-box and with JDS not fully fit it is the obvious place to play him. Vitaly, Christian and Jensen to start on most occasions with JDS, Ghoddas and Marcondes available off the bench! Very exciting!!! :)

Can you imagine the noise of that goal if fans were in the stadium. Wow.

He is a young lad who plays holding mid really well. Why push to play him in an unfamiliar role when he and CN will need to rotate anyway? We have a good bank.of decent centre midfielders now.

Vitaly keeps playing like this, then he will be my player of the season.

He said himself in interview he’s more of an 8 than a 6. IMO he can play anywhere in the midfield but with CN DM and Vitaly at no 8 we’ll be unreal 🔥
