Draw currently being made.

Denmark in pot 1 so England and Denmark apart - can not play each other.
Denmark in Group F.
England in Group I.

We can get Wales (Pot 2) and any of the Irish or Scotland (pot 3).

Personally Germany can play their kids and still qualify.
They have Romania, Iceland, North Macedonia, Armenia and Liechtenstein.

Andorra and San Marino. Wow they could see off Mr Southgate's period in charge unless we put them to bed.

And our season shuts down for 2 weeks just so England can play 4 games against Andorra and San Marino
And what about our own players who are on international duty? So what if our season shuts down for two weeks? What are Brentford meant to do? Play without some first team players?

It's certainly a tough group but on balance I would have taken that if it were offered to us before the draw took place. I'd prefer our group to Northern Ireland's for example. Group's B, D and H were also ones that I was glad that we did not end up in.

So has everyone decided to turn a blind eye to all the deaths involved in the construction, the lack of human rights in Qatar, and the obvious corruption in awarding them the finals? That's sad.

I do like England

I just don't think we should be playing matches against the really small teams

Have a pre qualifying for them

And give us just a Group of 4 to play Qualifiers

Fixture dates
Now playing 3 games in March break
Another 3 in September

Another 3 in October

Final 1 in November
Quickly followed by play offs if you dont win the Group

I actually agree with this.
Most other confederations do this.

AFC (Asia) do it where they have 4 rounds and wind up having more matches for some reason. Bad example.
CAF (Africa) do it similar to AFC but with their 54 nations taking part (didn't realise there were 54 nations in Africa!). They have the weakest 28 teams play a play off with the remaining 26 teams and the winning 14 teams of round 1 being in round 2. 40 teams then split into 10 groups of 4 (6 games each) with each group winner then playing a 2 legged play off to determine qualification (they only get 5 entrants).

We could do the same but wouldn't need the third round as we have more than 10 qualify anyway.

If we went down that route, we could do something like this:

The top 23 nations qualify for round 2 with nations 24-55 entering round 1. They could play a 2 legged game with the 16 winners progressing to round 2.
We'd now have 39 nations being drawn into 13 groups. Could play each other twice, or 3 times giving 4 or 6 games for the "bigger" nations. Yes there will still be that chance of a small nation in a group but chances are it'll be 2 bigger nations and a mid/small team.
We have 13 nations qualifying for Qatar. So this would benefit the same style of the nations league to a degree, smaller groups and big nations playing each other.
