Things Others Say About Brentford FC
Yeah we would NEVER do that about them would we!!
Yeah we would NEVER do that about them would we!!
This is quite scary reading actually.
I know we've drawn our last 4 mind, but still... only Burnley and Tottenham are waiting longer for a win.

We don’t claim to not care about them though.Yeah we would NEVER do that about them would we!!
As we've only played four PL games since February it is frankly a meaningless statistic and is just a reflection of how few matches there are at some points of the season. This is quite scary reading actually.

In other words, "it's a load of old Bo**ocks"As we've only played four PL games since February it is frankly a meaningless statistic and is just a reflection of how few matches there are at some points of the season.

Within those 45 days, there were 21 where we didn't play game.41 surely??Within those 45 days, there were 21 where we didn't play game.
You know very well what I mean.41 surely??

The feeling is mutual with that rambling and incoherent, uninformative, clueless jock. His comments usually starting with ‘you’re not wrong Jeff….’ are on a level with the worst pub bores. Our match got a rave review on TalkSport this morning
Ally McCoist: "Saturday I was two games. I did Brentford. Which could potentially be the worst game in history and then Chelsea Manchester United and I watched a couple of games yesterday, so brilliant, some football eh".
Jeff: "Yeah...but not at Brentford...or indeed at Stamford Bridge."
Ally McCoist: "Horrendous. Horrendous."
Ally McCoist: "My last 3 games I have had Arsenal Sporting Lisbon, Brentford Fulham, and Chelsea Manchester United, I would rather go for route canal treatment than have to sit through those 3 again."

He is a horrible commentator, always change to a different channel when he is on.Our match got a rave review on TalkSport this morning

Tbf, if you strip away the usual Talk sh*te hyperbole/McCoist bolloxology, I'd say that it can't have been the most interesting/memorable of games for a neutral. I mean, a total of four shots on target, none of them from the visitors, suggests you'd have to have had some skin in the game to get much from it.Our match got a rave review on TalkSport this morning

I once saw Alex McLeish at a West Brom v. Bees game. Does that mean he’s now classed as a fan?P.S. I saw Alex McLeish outside the West Stand before the game, with someone who's the dead spit of Gordon Strachan (a regular Bees fan, I'm told): wonder what he thought of it?
I listened to him and his sidekick (Darren Fletcher?)wittering away on Saturday. Their commentary was insulting, unprofessional, annoying , childish and uninformative throughout. Our match got a rave review on TalkSport this morning

Yes, I watched it back and it was pretty disgraceful. They really couldn't give a f*** about the game and didn't want to be there. Fletcher (Forest fan) doesn't have a lot of time for us.I listened to him and his sidekick (Darren Fletcher?)wittering away on Saturday. It was like 2 young boys having a laugh in a pub.
No didn’t have a half and half scarf nor is there any evidence he washed his hands preferring to hand shake his sex into others all afternoonI once saw Alex McLeish at a West Brom v. Bees game. Does that mean he’s now classed as a fan?
Well, I’m glad that’s all sorted and we’ve finished in 15th place…No point in us turning up to the City away game then, give them the 3 points and give the squad a rest week Keith

Manchester City or Arsenal - who will win Premier League title race? The big prediction special
Will it be Manchester City or Arsenal for the Premier League title? BBC Sport gets pundits, reporters and fans to predict each of their remaining fixtures - and who will win the league.www.bbc.co.uk
And, as we know, we'd have dreamt of that when the season started...Well, I’m glad that’s all sorted and we’ve finished in 15th place…
I think we’ll end up 11th or 12th.Well, I’m glad that’s all sorted and we’ve finished in 15th place…

Well it's always lovely to see such potent optimism on this forum!I think we’ll end up 11th or 12th.
Thats the spiritI think we’ll end up 11th or 12th.
Brentford are one of those teams the group of ‘big dicks’ at Chelsea should have a look at to see how a football club should be run. Just compare Brentford and Chelsea’s spending record. The sight of those contrasting numbers will make your head spin and cause you to wonder at the sheer stupidity of the Chelsea owners who obviously have no idea about running a football club. The Brentford board will be smiling broadly as they climb above Chelsea before seasons end. It’s a club that needs to be admired, thought I hope we give them footballing prols a dam good Monday night thrashing.
For me if we finish above Chelsea in the league it would feel like reaching the Holy Grail. Decades supporting the Bees has always seen our relationship with Chelsea very David and Goliath even when we have picked up points from them in the PL. To finish above them would be an historic achievementComment in the Guardian today from a Man U fan

West Londons top club that season. We finished above Chelsea in 2023.
Indeed. I won £50 off of a very mouthy Chelsea supporting mate (aren't they all?). He's won money off of me the last couple of seasons but it's looking like I'll be getting some back this year hopefully. Straight after winning the Club World Cup he couldn't help himself. The fact that Sanchez won the Golden Glove in that tournament tells you everything you need to know!!!We finished above Chelsea in 2023.
do you get a handicap of some sort? otherwise he is taking the piss accepting that betIndeed. I won £50 off of a very mouthy Chelsea supporting mate (aren't they all?). West Londons top f*****g club according to Thomas in his end of season address over the pa system.West Londons top club that season.
How quick we forget
No mate. I won it the first year we had the bet and my ego won't let me back down when he's proposed it every year since. At my golf club I'd guess there are around 70-80 Chelsea fans and I'm the only Bees fan so I let them know about it whenever we get one over them. But now I can't back down and get it in the neck when we lose from a lot of them.do you get a handicap of some sort? otherwise he is taking the piss accepting that bet
As former Brentford manager Charlie Dickens once said, it was the best of times it was the worst of times.Just wanted to let you guys know for what it's worth, last night's match v Man U - you were VERY unlucky - corroborated for me what an excellent side to watch you are. Great football and always dangerous, everything we are not at present.
Just wanted to register my admiration. Incidentally I was fuming with Thiago last night. He's been spot on, I was really surprised l.
Take care all
As opposed to:Unprompted comment from a Man U fan on another forum:
"[We] need to shore up for Sunday, especially those wide areas. Brentford are a delight to watch though. Hope they get Europe."
Another one admitted Bees "could have scored six".
Was that from wokinghamred? As opposed to:
"Brentford really didn't have a sniff until the worldie."

Paul Scholes very praiseworthy of Damsgaard and Jensen in the recent Overlap. 5 min discussion of the game (obviously United centric) starts at 1h 12m but the video below should open to it.

Yeah, he was a man alone in that debate because the studio fan wanted to talk about how good Mainoo was. I liked when he said he was the best player on the pitch... and Scholes said "for both sides?"... i.e. he thought one our players was man of the match.Neville and the studio fan shut him down though.![]()
Its a given that "pundits" and "people in the know" will say we will get relegated.Alex Crook chief football editor for TalkSport getting his predictions for next season in early:
After the departures of Thomas Frank and Bryan Mbeumo, many pundits predicted relegation for the Bees.
Keith Andrews has silenced critics, steering the team to within one point of European qualification.
However, Crook remains cautious, saying: "I think a struggle next season is on the cards and I could see the club fighting relegation but it remains an impressive recruitment model from Matthew Benham.”
Probably true. Its a given that "pundits" and "people in the know" will say we will get relegated.
Just enjoy the inevitable top 10 finish and watch them squirm and backpedal like they have for the last 5 years
