Highlights of changes

Category A and B fixtures frozen in price but most of Cat A* have gone up £5 for adults, seniors and young persons (not juniors)
Dugout up by £5 (cat A) and £10 (cat A*)

Away games only with more availability expected.... "Season ticket holders, premium seat holders and members can buy two or more tickets per account, and this number can be adjusted for away games with high availability"

Agreed - Given the most expensive ticket is £75, the max additional transaction fee would be 75p / ticket.
For away tickets, capped at £30, it would be 30p.

So not a huge cost to the purchaser but also seems completely insignificant for the Club vs the goodwill of charging ticket face value with no added fees.

Does anyone know the best way to buy a membership for my daughter (aged 3) as she doesn’t have an email address and I can’t use mine as it is linked to my season ticket? Is it just a case of creating an address and then adding her to my friends and family once her fan number is created? Thanks!

If you use Gmail you can set her up an email address from within your own account…

Then link the accounts in Friends & Family using Fan Number and Surname.

Assume this is a symptom of some games not selling out / not attracting enough buyers on the exchange at the 40 TAP level.

• Sunderland - presume because early in the season and a chance to get first timers along and maybe sell them a membership
• Brighton on 16th Jan, a classic time of the season for a ticket promotion

Last season Leeds was Cat B with a TAPs requirement (the only game like this I think) to avoid this exact issue.
I imagine it'll be the same again, when the time comes.

It being Cat B means only one ticket window and cheaper tickets even with the TAPs requirement.

It also tends to be the least popular London away I think so maybe boosted for that reason alone.

Are tickets purchased by phone not subject to the 1% transaction fee? This sounds like a stealth tax for the buyer, as well as a bit of a faff for the ticket office employees and will certainly result in some pretty strange ticket prices, including £1.01 for some Eintracht Frankfurt YP tickets!

I realise that 1% is not a huge sum of money, but is this further chipping at the supporter, even after ticket prices have been set? Equally, the club are not going to bank huge sums even over a season. Is it part of a BFC or a Ticketmaster strategy? Were our supporter groups involved in the discussions which led to this?

Ultimately, is it worth it? It feels a bit like airport drop off fees - are we testing the water with a 1% fee, and in future the percentage will increase?

Indeed, especially as the home club gets 5%(?) for selling them anyway.

1% increase on tickets is the start of 2% to 3% etc.
Does this mean 1% on a programme,cup of coffee,pint of pride ?

I guess it replaces the postage that a few of us paid twice for and never got a refund or was always over priced.

Prices have been increased for the Frankfurt game to include the 1% fee (£10.10, £1.01 etc) so there does not appear to be a way to avoid it. we will see whether the £30 cap and Gen10 cap are actually £30.30 and £10.10 or if they say the limit is excluding booking fees.

A championship club I know of charges £2.00 booking fee on every single home and away ticket, compared with that I suppose 30p on an away ticket is not that bad especially as postage is rarely required now. But I agree it doesn't really seem necessary.

When changing from an 18-24 Membership to an Adult Membership, should the reduced rate (£40:00 rather than £45:00) be available as it is in essence a 'renewal'?

In other words, they can't make it so you HAVE to pay a fee. In Brentford's case, they may claim that they will accept cash, as an alternative non-fee payment method. (Possibly also debit card, as opposed to credit card?_

I've exchanged a few messages with the club and this seems to be a known issue - "it should allow you to see your membership now on the management section soon, it just takes a bit of time for the website to update"

So the answer is to be patient and check back later.

As an aside, I used WhatsApp for Brentford FC Support and it was a really good experience, so I recommend that if you ever have an issue

Yes, I've had the annual junior membership renewal / non-renewal shambles. Just as last year one membership account set to non-automatic renewal automatically renewed despite no card being stored in the account, and one set to automatically renew with a card stored in the account did not. Last year one child who changed age and therefore membership categories did so correctly since the DoB was stored, a rare success. This year one child who changed age categories with the DoB stored did not and is stuck as a Babee. Or was. I rang the office to deal with it and the - experience "um ... errr. .... don't know what's happened here .... can I put you on hold ... " etc - did not inspire confidence; he said there was a card stored in that account, but he couldn't use it for the payment (?), so could I read out the card details again to pay the correct fee for Bee Team, he said that would then be set for auto-renewal. Sorted. But, of course, not. Two weeks later the membership for that child has disappeared altogether, there has been no charge to the card, there is no renewal option, and there is no card stored.

This wouldnt surprise me as Ryanair let you pay by some obscure card without a booking fee but charge one for everything else.

There’ll be a 50% surcharge before we know it and yet the club will be telling us we haven’t put prices up for years.

The thing I don't understand is that for the Eintracht Friendly, they're charging £10.10 GA and £7.07 for Seniors/Juniors. Why not just charge £7.00 for the latter, but £11 for the former? I doubt anyone's who's interested enough to pay £10 for the game would baulk at paying an extra quid if they didn't know, and the club would generate more revenue overall without pissing everyone off with this silly 1% charge.
