Looked Norway's best defender by a long way and responsible for the 4th. I wouldn't say a Rolls Royce of a defender more like an Audi. Oh and someone tell Thomas Frank Ayer is really good in a pair of centre backs and not just as part of 3 centre backs.

Was TF doing some tv studio work for this then?

He also had to contend with his teammate, Ryerson, at RB/RWB who ran about like a headless chicken.

Decent game, yesterday.
Had a hand in one of the goals, and put in a good block to deny an Iraqi attack.

It looked like they were playing a back 3 most of the time!

Kristoffer Ajer

Is it me or is his involvement at the WC being overlooked here.

Playing really well.
Only switched over for last twenty minutes and his team mates seem resistant to passing him the f***en ball

Kristoffer Ajer

Increasingly reminds me of a heartthrob vicar happily going about his business in a country parish only getting agitated when faced with any kind of cheating. Had a great game today and the happiness that his team progress only tempered by annoyance that Haarland can even get goals with a hopeless attempt to control the ball.

Kristoffer Ajer

He's just incredible, isn't he? Just played a massive part in Norway reaching the second knockout stage for the first time ever.

A shame he and Thiago are unlikely to face each other in the following match.

Kristoffer Ajer

I remember when, when the ball was out of play or something and it was a bit quiet, someone in the crowd gave a Bjork type of 'shriek' when Hermann was playing, and the big man heard it and acknowledged it with a huge smile.

So, when Ajer comes on the pitch in our first home game, we 'Ro, Ro, Ro' !!

Kristoffer Ajer

Immense, must start next season in my opinion.
He is already starting for Norway so assume this will continue next season

Kristoffer Ajer

I thought Ajer was great last season, like a new lease of life. The way he held up the opposition players 3 of them at a time when in the box during set pieces was pretty great. I’d say he and Sepp were our strongest CBs last season.

Kristoffer Ajer

I thought he did really well in key moments especially positively.

Hope he flops in the next game though

Kristoffer Ajer

Real conundrum for Andrews. He’s a top class international defender. Does he start and if so who do I leave out.

I’d assume he’ll select the best squad and starting XI for the game to suit his tactics, regardless.

Kristoffer Ajer

He’ll likely have an extended off season so I wouldn’t expect him to be in the starting XI for the opening games
This. the very earliest he'll report for training is 26th July. May be a week after. He'll be 4-5 weeks behind everyone else so don't expect him to start until at least mid-September.

Kristoffer Ajer

Are Danish Bees are ready to row in as well? Vikings united!

It was actually Vikings from current day Sweden who mainly rowed. The Norwegian Vikings were more long distance seafarers mostly reliant on sail power So they are really doing a homage to Swedes. Or so my newspaper tells me.

He wont be that far behind as he’ll be going home on Sunday and will be completely match sharp few weeks off and back on it .

Don't even start.... Vikings were never actually a group of people anyway, "viking" meant to go raiding. They were all probably called "Northmen" at the time, or lumped together as "Danes".

Norsemen = men from the North; Viking = Norsemen raiders. I think they included any of what we now regard as individual nations Denmark, Norway and Sweden.

If I recall correctly from schooldays from a history teacher who was rather obsessed with them!

Yes, the activity became the catch all name for them, they almost certainly didn't refer to themselves as Vikings. Like calling English people "Tea Drinkers".

Countries as we know them today didn’t really exist back then.

Kristoffer Ajer

Know that he won't actually play - but Jordan IS named as an England sub. Does that count?

*suppose he could get called on to take a penalty in a shoot out,
In my book there's two Bees remaining, or perhaps one and three quarters. Good luck to the both of them I say!
