RIP Kevin,

A true legend who gave everything for the cause. Worked hard to get to the heights of the game, his like will not be seen again. A true superstar when i was a young lad, its a sad day for football.

Very sad.
As a kid growing up who just loved football he was probably my favourite player (excl. Bees of course). Fabulous attitude and no little skill.
RIP Kevin and condolences to family and close friends.

RIP Kevin. Always struck me as a thoroughly decent human being who wore his heart on his sleeve.

A personal memory of him was when he was being interviewed at the entrance to the tunnel at Wembley following the win against Hungary in Nov 81 that took us to the World Cup finals in 82. I threw my Brentford scarf at him, which hit him and fell to the floor. He picked it up and put it around his neck and wore it for the remainder of the interview :giggle:

Sad news.

Probably the first footballer I was aware of when I was a kid.
I was lucky enough to meet him when I was about seven I think. My mum worked for Blue Peter and he was a guest… she took me up to TV centre and when the live broadcast was finished he signed my autograph book and ruffled my hair. I still had some back then.

Although a bit silly, I never thought of Keegan dying.

One of those very rare players who, when he picked up the ball, caused the entire crowd to lean forward, stop chatting, and create a real buzz around the ground - a real "presence" on the field, like eg a Best or a Maradona, both of whom I was also privileged to see play live.

KK was also a thoroughly decent man too, by all accounts.

Sad that he never got the chance to make one, last visit to SJP.

RIP King Kev! I was young (& lucky) enough to remember the likes of George Best & Denis Law, and I can clearly remember you dazzling the First Division with Liverpool throughout 1970s. A real superstar and a player who was worth the entrance fee alone. You may be gone, but you'll never be forgotten by football fans of a certain age. RIP 🙏🏽

Such a shame he was injured for the 1982 World Cup in Spain, only coming on as sub in the last game when we were just about out!

A superstar in every respect!
