No hard feelings from me. Probably really helped in the dressing room in KAs first season as manager. And on the training pitch. His performances initially good but the end we needed more. So thank you and good luck.

Think the words from Keith are the most pertinent and carry a slightly different message to all others. "Taking into consideration Jordan’s ambitions and where our squad is currently, we both felt it was the right time for Jordan to pursue his career elsewhere". He preferred Chelsea's bench over ours then.

The writing was on the wall months ago, as far as I was concerned when Henderson became very vocal, bordering on disrespectful to others, questioning why he was getting subbed. Gave the impression to me he thought he'd be the main man, but just wasn't good enough to be that man.
I never really took to him, although most GPGers did. Very much a marriage of convenience in my eyes. I'm still not convinced just how much difference he made to us. From the Jon Douglas school of unseen work.
EDIT...Just read it on BBC website. Keith implying that Henderson probably wouldn't be getting as many minutes next year as he'd have liked, given the quality of the squad. Seems it was always the plan to take stock of things after one year. He was never staying for year 2 once the WC was over and we had served our purpose.

Jordan Henderson has left Brentford following a mutual agreement to terminate his contract. The midfielder made 34 appearances for the Bees in 2025/26, before making England history at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Henderson was good for us at the time we signed him and good luck to him at Chelsea.
They see him as an air freshener for their stinking changing room after all the good comments about him from England team members . Might work , probably won’t, but an expensive motivation creator which I don’t think is a priority for us at present

I think Jordan Henderson came to us at a time that suited both. Great at the start dropped off at the end. We’d just lost a lot and I’m sure as everyone bar Roy Keane says he gives a lot on and off the pitch. However now Keith has found his feet got Duff along side perhaps the addition of a new top midfielder is the priority. With the saving on wages we say thanks to Jordan wish him well and move onwards and upwards. COY

He was very bad against Liverpool, off pitch stuff notwithstanding. Was a really important game for us and he put in a stinker.

Feels like both sides got what they wanted. Jordan got a chance to get back to the Prem and ensured a place in the England squad. BFC got a veteran presence with a new club manger (first time at this level) and new club captain while adding depth to the midfield. Both can move on as well. Best of luck, and excited for the next chapter.

Thought it was a good signing though questioned two years at the time. Turned out it was a good signing (despite what a few people think) and only one year so no complaints from me. Added experience at a time we really needed it but in all honesty faded after his injury.

I think this is a fair enough judgment
As most have said faded in the second half of the season
We needed a bit of stability at the time. If the Aston Villa game had gone a bit differently wr may have needed it even more.

He helped the transition when KA took over. I was at Anfield and had no problem with him acknowledging the fans of a club at which he was a legend. Decent on the pitch for us without being outstanding, but he showed how to get in the ear of the ref. But a two year deal at Chelski at his age wow.

His role in keeping us afloat at the start of last season is probably underestimated, and he looked class at first. But the rest of the squad stabilised and overtook him as he dropped off. He was our worst regular player by the end of the season. All the best to him but no real loss.

Pure guesswork from me but I wouldn’t be surprised if he told interested clubs he was only interested in offers of 2 year deals rather than 1.
Given how Tuchel evidently values his leadership, I imagine, as there’s been no announcement on international retirement, that his plan is to play until Euro 2028, which is of course being hosted by the UK and Ireland, and then retire after that. Therefore a 2 year deal makes a lot more sense for him.

Some weirdly nasty posts on here about a bloke who gave his all for us and provided valuable leadership when we needed it at the start of the season.
I'm not gutted he's left but still wish him the best in the future.

He came at a time when we needed some stability following the Summer upheaval, he provided that and was an excellent role model for our youngsters.
Letting him go for nothing, despite having a year on his contract is not unsurprising, unlikely to get much game time and on decent wage, so best for all parties and the message of fairness it sends won’t do us any harm in future transfer negotiation's

Helped out during transition period when Thomas left, settled us down at the start of the season with some good performances, but faded badly at the end, achieved his goal of going to the World cup, I won't miss him as we have younger and better committed players with hopefully a younger decent player to replace him, his playing record of 12 years at Liverpool, 1 year at El-Etfiq, 1 year With Ajax, 1 year with us and now moving to Chelsea just about sums it all up, I wonder where his next years move will be.

Good luck to him though, did a job for us, but I reckon our squad will be stronger next season even without him.

Well said. I reckon he was an excellent role model for the older players, too, with his application to his job and his own standards on full display to everyone at the training ground, staff included.
Those first games were pivotal in how our season went and his contribution was extremely important, especially those assists, giving confidence to those around him as well as the fan base.
People have their own opinions, of course, but for me Jordan’s influence on the club cannot be taken lightly, even though he was only with for the one season, similar to Christian Eriksen’s time with us and although longer, Pontus’ contribution over his time with the club, it is these periods in the club’s history where situations arise and, in most cases, the club benefits highly from the associations made where standards are raised to a new ‘normal’.
It was obvious to see the rise in performance and confidence of players like Vitaly, Yarmo and Michael, no doubt from having an influential, vastly experienced teammate around them.
All parties involved have benefited from the original agreement so I wish Jordan well and look forward to seeing our team grow and use what they have learnt.

With all the changes and departures last summer, we needed an experienced player with leadership qualities to settle things down, I'm sure his presence was really helpful to the younger players and to Keith Andrews in his first season in charge. Whilst he needed a top 10 Premier League club to take a chance on him and give him a way back into Englsh football, us being a rather low key option that allowed him to ease back in without much attention following a difficult year or so in Saudi and the Netherlands.
I remember half time at Forest on opening weekend, not sure what to think having seen our young midfield pulled apart and looking like rabbits in headlights, thinking how much we could do with a Henderson in the side. A week later against Villa and he came into the side and we immediately looked more comfortable and so much better with him in the side. In truth, those first three months were probably the best we got out of him, I recall him being at his best in those home games against Man City, utd and Chelsea where he seemed to really enjoy his raising his game against the big boys. His leadership qualities were there to be seen and those long balls over the top set us on the way to some important goals in those games.
Sadly the second half of the season was less memorable and I think age and fitness caught up with him as he struggled to stay fit and keep his form. Suddenly the limitations to his game became evident and those long first time balls over the top saldy became all too predictable and one-dimensional. I recall Bournemouth away in March and up against the young and impressive Alex Scott who had just been called up to the England squad. It was safe to say Scott had Jordan's number that evening and he was subsequently hooked off and a small tantrum followed as he wasn't best pleased about coming off. A two year deal suddenly looked quite a stretch and it in the those final months of the season he just couldn't find the fitness or form we really needed to get us those much needed wins in tight games.
Onto Anfield we went needing a win to get into Europe but it became all too evident that having a role in Salah's big farewell was just as important to him as he lapped up the hugs and high fives from his former team mates whilst we all screamed at him to get off the pitch with time running out and us chasing goals. It wasn't to be and he got his big farewell from the Anfield crowd he so craved, whilst clapping us after felt very forced like he only did because he had to. It was obvious to me that day that we weren't really his priority and perhaps now it's clear we were just a stepping stone in his journey to getting back to big club.
I thank him for his role and how much he helped us early on, and I'm still proud to say a Brentford player captained England and went to a World Cup, something I doubt anyone of us thought at times we'd ever say. Indeed - would have been difficult to justify him starting this season, and thus his wages! Duff is now in as an experienced pro across all competitions etc and from a playing perspective we need to push on. Equally Hendo might as well go and take two years of Chelsea money, rather than it be increasingly awkward to sit on our bench taking Brentford money!
Seems like quite an elegant solution which probably favours us if anything!

Sad to see him leaving, last session he started strong, when we most needed it. He definitely run out of gas towards the end, due to multiple factors.
Definitely showed class and leadership on and off the pitch, some people may never forgive him for the Liverpool game, but I'd rather keep the good memories of the beginning.
I wonder if he will get the same pelters that Eriksen got in his return to the Gtech, I'd expect not, but some football fans are very peculiar.

He was good for us when we needed it. He played for and even captained England while on our books. He's written a classy farewell. He's not a Bees legend, but he leaves with more credit in the bank than Christian Eriksen did, and I hope he gets a decent welcome whenever he returns to the Gtech.
