I think he's a great player. And while he doesn't bring that express pace and power that we're looking for, he does bring grit and determination, plus an eye for a pass. The question is, how is the midfield balance with him as an 8?

Bad.

Jensen's defensive contribution is excellent, his pressing is very good.

150+ appearances and he's a luxury player who doesn't defend. How did he get away with that for years.

He works his socks off defensively and does press well.
However he’s just not athletically suited to being the number 8 and is reliably breezed past by stronger / more athletic players.
He’s most suited to competing with Damsgaard for the creative / attacking midfielder role. Where the athletic/defensive ability matters less and his ability to pick a pass or have a shot matters more.

See above as in, all the information is before you so I don't understand why you'd think that there might be something else that is being kept back. Novasports are one of the largest sports broadcasters in Greece who hold the rights to the Premier League and the Greek Super League, it would seem odd (to me) to ignore them linking one of our players. Who knows whether it is true, I'm sure if more information comes to light, it will be added.

I should’ve been a bit more specific – I agree that it’s legitimate with a valid local source and a genuine reason, i.e. the young Danish head coach.

For me, I think he misplaced too many passes when we were in good positions in the games I watched, and had a tendency to get muscled off the ball. Maybe I've just not level set correctly on the type of player we can expect for Brentford? Or maybe that's just his role and playing that way means you will have the odd overhit pass.

I generally feel like the team's more settled when Henderson is on the field. They're better to watch in possession when Jensen's there for sure. I just have my heart in my mouth when he's in possession close to our goal.

Maybe the team looks different once Sangare is in and settled. Ideally, I'd want someone who passes and defends like Wharton and is as good on the ball as Jensen is, but if that player exists then they're worth more than what we'd pay.

I'm not disputing Jensen is a class player. Maybe what I think is inconsistency is just a part of the more attack minded, risky passes he makes not coming off. It's just my opinion that's all.

Tell me how many goals against us you have witnessed that have been the fault of Jensen.... I wont hold my breath for your reply

I think this one is really down to the player - he'll know that he won't always be first choice for us next season unless we have a major injury crisis but he'll also know that he's good enough to step in and we wont see a discernable drop in quality.
If he's happy to accept that role great. if he wants to start every game and have a midfield built around his skills then we may not be his best option. The signings we have made lead me to think that we'll be playing fast transitional football and although he can pick a pass with the best of them and has more nutmegs than almost anyone in red & white, carrying the ball isn't one of his strengths.
I can see where Panathinaikos might appeal to him. Slightly slower pace and more time on the ball which will suit his style. A chance to be at the centre of a new project with an ambitious young coach and if they get through the qualifying stages he'll have a crack at European football in a tournament where they could go deep.

The 4-0 home win was played in 40 degree heat, I'm glad we could coast the second half in that weather!

I doubt it was 40, but I would rather we put another 2-3 past them, there have been hundreds of games in that heat where we couldn't afford to take our foot of the peddle and we survived it ok. And the 4.3 win, we were cruising at 4.1 and made wholesale subs and it turned into a mess and only just escaped with the 3 points in the end.

Any other team in the world and I wouldn't even remember the detail, but this lot, Arsenal and Liverpool, we should never miss the opportunity for total annihilation should it ever appear, it makes up for 59 years of living in Maidenhead surrounded by these w***ers.

I’d be absolutely gutted if he goes. Such a silky player and now a very experienced head in the squad who’s been there in a really massive transition for the club. I remember seeing an interview with dams (i think when he signed) where he talked about matti being a player he really looked up to at nordsjaelland, he wanted to be as good as him and it’s been a pleasure watching them play together

One of my favourite ever Brentford players, I will be gutted if he goes but I suspect he will. It won't be easy to find someone who has an eye for a pass and switches play like Jenson does. I will miss watching him play if he goes but the way football is going more athleticism, dynamism and bite is needed in those central midfield areas, Jenson is a bit of a throwback.

Jensen is not everyone's favourite but as well as being one of the promotion squad who knows the ethics of the club inside out he is also a very good player who has an eye for the right pass.

He is 'only' 30, if it was me I would be signing him up for another 3 or 4 years, with options to extend that. He doesn't rely on pace and every year of experience makes him a better player. He is good enough to start, but also a luxury to have as back-up if it ever came to that with the attitude to match.

I see it as one of the Club’s challenges in succession planning. We no longer have Henderson’s cross-field pass and losing Jensen’s (no matter what some fans think of his accuracy), would leave us light. Collins has a decent go at it and the switch-pass is one of Sangaré’s listed attributes but our fast attacking style of play really needs that.

I don't think the original rumour stated that they had been "club to club" talks. No-one at Brentford would know if Jensen is talking to other clubs either. We know how it works, the "selling" club is the last to know when a deal has been done between the "buying" club and the player (via his representatives)

Yes, this is the well-worn method known as "tapping up." It used to be against the rules, and maybe still is.
