Yep, when I saw the team it seemed pretty clear to me that this was our approach: take the game long, make sure we are still in it going into the last quarter and try to win it from there.
What shocked me, though, was that we did not really go for it until so late. Henderson for Hickey on 60 was a really odd one and then Damsgaard not coming on until the 83rd minute!! Far too late IMO.
Sure, it nearly worked - Dango should have buried his chance. But, to me, that just showed what might have been had we been a little braver earlier.
Don't get me wrong, KA has had a great season given the context and his inexperience. I am optimistic about the future.
But Damsgaard's much lower impact this year worries me. Perhaps, given what we know about his past problems, he has had to be nursed through the season.
But, if not, KA needs to find a way next season to get our best, most creative and dangerous ball player on the pitch more of the time, especially given our deficiencies, particularly evident in the last ten games, at keeping possession of the ball.
