Well, I think it's finally happening. After annoying the piss out you lot since the Autumn of 01, I will finally have a chance to venture across the pond, and I will be in town for the Chelsea match.
Any advice on getting a ticket would be very much appreciated. I feel as I need a sherpa to lead me up this mountain. It'll just be me (in town on business) so imagine the West Stand would be loads of fun. Any tips or advice would be appreciated.
... And I probably owe a few of you a pint as it is...
I would write to the Fan Engagement team, CCing in the Ticket Office and stating why you are a Bees Fan, stating what first attracted you to the club, how you keep in touch with the club news etc and then why this one particular game / opportunity is so important to you.
Add little details like your
*a Bees Overseas Member,
*A member of BIAS (If not, why not, its FREE), *a member of XYZ USA supporters group, that you joined the GPG
on mm/yyyy and have been posting regularly as @stevendamico
*any Brentford related Facebook groups you are a member of,
*that you attended one or more of the Bees matches played in America,
*that you previously have purchased merchandise from the Bees store.
*even attach a picture to the email with your Bees attire / memrobillia.
I would like to think the Club can bend their rules to assist a GENUINE fan in your position, but those rules exist for very valid reasons and are even tougher for the likes of Chelsea at home. (It is probably impossible for a spare ticket to be transferred to you as your non attendance in the past will mean you have insufficient taps).
My last tip is to follow all of Brentford FC's partners on social media as they often have ticket give aways.
The key word is GENUINE, not that im doubting you, but we do have rules on ticketing becuase we the fans, get upset when away fans are in home areas and to keep everybody safe.
If you can prove your not a 'Brenda Ford' then maybe, just maybe, somebody at the club will have the trust in you, to help you out.
