Caoimhín Kelleher

Always looks so calm and composed - opposite end of the spectrum to, say, Pickford.

Cracking save. He is operating as such a consistently good level. I would only rank Raya ahead of him in the league now, and that's marginal.
Hopefully silly money won't turn heads in the summer.

Caoimhín has been brilliant this season and I feel for him. Didn't need to make the fouls and the less said about the second goal the better.

Very nearly saved the penalty.

Indeed, what a day to bring your Toblarone boots and Bar’o’soap gloves.
Know the idea is to allow shots from distance (vs higher xG chances) but when they accumulate, simple law of probability means potential for an error leading to a goal.

Everyone makes mistakes, impossible not to. MotM table shows what a valuable addition he’s been this season. Now go show your previous employer next Sunday why they made a mistake in letting you leave.

Not his finest match…

I was talking to an Arsenal supporter who was eulogising about David Raya. I told him not quite up to DR
standard , but we have an excellent keeper at Brentford- then he does that today.
He has plenty of brownie points in the bag, so onwards and upwards.

Caoimhín Kelleher

Even the best of keepers will have the occasional howler in them. Maybe overconfidence creeping in?
He'll learn from that and move on.

Caoimhín Kelleher

Plenty of credit in the bank, and a credit to him this is probably his first proper stinker of a game for us.

Onwards to the next game, he'll learn and no doubt be pivotal again next season.

Saved his worst game for one of the most important games of the season, mind you he has plenty of credit in the bank, saving himself for his Anfield showing, even Pickford had a howler at home against Sunderland, it does happen.

Caoimhín Kelleher

Nothing was right for him yesterday, distribution was probably worse than the shot that went through him. I don't blame him as much for the pen, KLP shoving the attacker forward was the cause of that particular sh*t show

Ringmahon Rangers to bank another million from Caoimhín Kelleher's Brentford heroics

The Cork club have already profited heavily from Kelleher's move to Liverpool, but are set to cash in again.

Caoimhín Kelleher’s stellar first season at Brentford will bank his Cork schoolboy club Ringmahon Rangers another seven-figure windfall by hitting milestone targets.

A 20% sell-on clause brokered when the goalkeeper joined Liverpool at 16 banked Ringmahon a €2.9m slice of the original €14.5m fee shelled out by the Bees last summer.

Fifa’s solidarity mechanisms, ensuring five percent of all transfer fees cascade to development clubs, added another €250,000 to their coffers.

When Kelleher was sold, Liverpool also negotiated a series of performance-related add-on clauses worth up to €6m.

Once again, the Cork club are entitled to a 20% share.

It’s understood that while most of these payments are related to appearances, 50 being the first he’s due to reach early next season, others are payable for 10 clean sheets, avoiding relegation and European qualification.

Kelleher reached the clean sheet tally with three games to spare in the 3-0 win over West Ham United. Brentford will secure Conference League qualification if they can better Chelsea’s result in Sunday’s final match at Liverpool.

The Mahon native joined his local club at the age of four, and bar a brief five-month spell at Rockmount, stayed until Pool beat Aston Villa for his signature as an apprentice. Rockmount will share a small portion of the riches.

Ringmahon’s club officials have always said the largesse would be invested to protect their long-term future…

Caoimhín Kelleher

He’s such a calming influence and his distribution has also improved in the time he’s been with us, especially kicking with his left foot. Shows that even when exceptional players join us, the coaching team find ways of making them better.

Liverpool fans decrying the decision to sell him as they think, correctly, that he’s better than Mamardashvili. The keeping Tottenham at bay statement is misguided because it makes it sound like they were battering us. A French account so will let it slide.

Was thinking last night, we have a song for every starter yesterday - EXCEPT Caomhin. Is our Quiet Man being taken for granted? Any of our Irish heritage fans suggest a song we can base something on? All I can think of is The Irish Rover, which could scan, but the lyrics might be a challenge.

That song using the tune from my old man's a dustman could work.

I think his full name scans well onto it and swap scoring with left foot and right to saving it sounds decent... in my head anyway 😎

"Irelands Number 1 etc." possibly - bit rubbish though

I made a very straightforward suggestion for him last season.

To the "Go West" tune:
"Caoimhin, Caoimhin Kelleher!!
Caoimhin, Caoimhin Kelleher!!
Caoimhin, Caoimhin Kelleher!!
Caoimhin, Caoimhin Kelleher!!"
Repeat.

Simple. 🤷‍♂️

🎵 got on a lucky one…, brought in Irelands number 1, his dream like ours, to smash the Fulham scum 🎵

Little to do, yet when needed, outstanding. Quiet efficiency.

Fantastic business by Phil, Lee et al. £20M? Absolute bargain, especially considering the amount spent on keeper this window
