It totally questions all integrity. There were substitutions which automatically add 30 seconds….. to just blow your whistle because you think the game is done is completely wrong. I know it makes zero difference but it actually calls into question the impartiality of a referee

Someone has just said on the BBC site that the new arrangement is that the Ref will blow the whistle on 90 if the result is not in doubt.

If correct - and I'd never heard it - I assume that this can only be in Cup matches, otherwise GD could be decisive in a League race.

Dermot Gallagher said something along the lines of for cup games where the scoreline is so one-sided that refs have the caveat to end the game and not play any stoppage time if they wish. He explained this isn't allowed in league games as goal difference is important and can impact on promotion and relegation etc.

Never been compelled to join the 'who are you ' chant ,rather applaud the scorer than taunt opposition supporters.Birmingham actually sell t shirts with it on in their shop. Got to say though that 'is there a fire drill?' followed by 'why are you still here?' wasn't particularly edifying

What happens in friendlies is irrelevant, doesn't matter who beats who a few weeks later.

I think he's basically making it up as he goes along and giving themselves power they should not have to interfere with a result (because the rules are badly written and just say "Allowance is made by the referee in each half for all playing time lost in that half").
So you could argue that allowance ISN'T made, if following Dermot's interpretation, when they just ignore all of the things that should have added time.

I only found this out recently but apparently a ref can end a game without playing the injury time if it's clearly over as a contest. When it happened before I think Michael Oliver was the ref.

How does this sit with the betting industry I wonder, I might have been very very angry had I had £100 on a Collins hat trick last night!

If my maths is correct - Eight different starters, and only Collins playing 180 minutes. But, 13 outfield players played some part in both games. Keep the team and core squad playing together and growing.

Well done Keith Andrews. His second half substitutions confirmed without doubt that this season we will go for the kill, we will manage games positively and we won't sit back on a lead. The improvement in our squad depth is there for all to see and there was no mercy shown last night to a Birmingham side already on their knees. What a transformation in our ability to control a game under our terms. Brilliant times

Maybe or 6-0 even. I was thinking of an evening game where we were 5-1 up and they pulled it back to 5-4 before we got the final goal. After their 3 very quick goals we took our kick off and Jackie Graham, I think, just booted the ball as far away from our goal possible!
