Ethan Pinnock (Coventry City)

Sad news, but also nice to be able to wave farewell with only best wishes.

Will probably keep them up.

Sly FPL pick as well with the amount of defensive contributions he'll get.

It is emotional to say farewell to such a club legend. Thanks for everything that you have done for this club, Ethan, which was obviously a hell of a lot, and best wishes for the future.

I will certainly give you a huge round of applause if you return to the Gtech as a player, but once that white line is crossed, you will be like any other opponent.

All the best, big man.

Is it normal to feel emotional about this? Another painful step in our growth . Thank you Ethan for a thousand towering headers , hundreds of duels won and countless goal saving blocks. As has been said , a legend. What a welcome back he will get.
yes its 100% to be emosh. And equally pragmatically aligned to the decision to let him go in the old bread box. I have come to realise so much of supporting this club is about feeling with your heart, but ruling with your head. And both are correct and often if not always at odds.

Ethan Pinnock (Coventry City)

Loved Ethan, dominant in the air, lack of bookings a testament to the art of defending by timing a tackle without going to ground, blocked shots for fun and a real threat at attacking set pieces. In his pomp he was not slow, remember him chasing down Sarr against Watford who is quick. For a top half Premier League side pushing for Europe probably not comfortable enough at bringing the ball out of defence, however simply a legend for us in our most progressive 7 years in living memory.

One of the Brentford greats. An absolutely phenomenal achievement to go from non-league football aged 23-24 to being a regular starter in the Premier League a few years later. Gutted to see him go but the right time for both parties.

Wish him all the best, except in two games this season ;)

So many thanks Ethan.👏⚽🐝

You are a real Bee!!! Both in footballing skill, and character.

You are a legend and must be in the hall of fame.

Have played such an important part of our historical climb from the Championship to the PL.

Such a stalwart in defence with about 192 games.
You were in the team on that day in 2021 when we gained promotion.

So reliable, and always making some last minute tackles and defensive blocks.

Really glad that you are able to remain in the PL with Coventry, and wish you all the best.

You’ll get a good pre-match welcome when you return here.

It’s amazing that we signed Ethan for about £3million, and have doubled that to £6million in his transfer!
Astute buy by Lampard for an experienced reliable defender.

Naturally sad to see him go, but a good result all round for Ethan and the club.

Leader Elite Genius Exceptional Nimble Dedicated
love the sentiment, but I'd swop Nimble for Noble. Deceptively quick, but used to run like he was trying to hold a big dump in.

For most of my life I read in awe about the all time club greats who gave us long and distinguished service during our glory years of the 1930s. Ethan is a key part of a generation that will now always be legends of equal or even greater stature in their own right. He's probably the best central defender I've seen in my 50 years watching the Bees and an absolute gentleman too.

Its sad to say goodbye to him but I'm really pleased that at this stage of his career he's managed to get a long term deal at a decent club. He more than deserves it. His homecoming when Coventry visit the Gtech will be special.

Its astounded me since we got promoted ,and every season since, how many of that promotion team have endured in the PL. And not just endured but improved. Like what a testament to that group. It's incredible we still have 4 players ( Rico, Jensen, JDS, Vitaly) from that side and of those you can't see the last moving on anytime soon.

JDS 2.0 still remains an unknown, but I'd argue than Jensen is going from strength to strength too like Vita.

Thank you, Ethan!

You will be greatly missed but fondly remembered for your contribution to helping change the club's status from Championship hopefuls to Premier League established.

Ethan Pinnock (Coventry City)

One of the Brentford greats and my favourite defender to have played for the Bees.

All the best Ethan and look forward to welcoming you back to the G Tech!

Ethan Pinnock (Coventry City)

One of my all time favourites. I remember thinking "uh oh" after his debut but by the end of his second game thinking we had the real deal on our hands.

The definition of a model professional - totally reliable, almost always available, rarely put in anything less than a 7 out of 10, some unbelievable performances, incredible in the air, never complained publicly when he wasn't playing. He had a long spell a few seasons ago when I remember thinking that I wouldn't swap him for (m)any other CBs in the division. Still reckon he could do a fantastic job for Coventry in the Prem this season, particularly if he was one of a back three.

We bumped into him in an empty, freezing, wind-swept Hampton Court Funfair a couple of years ago and we was more than accommodating taking photos and chatting with my young son. My wife was blown away by how friendly Brentford players were, credit to the club, such a pro, better looking than her husband, etc etc.

Lovely bloke and I'm delighted for him that he's got a great future lined up towards the latter end of his career.

What a story his career has been, and continues to be. Quite emotional to lose such a true, true Brentford legend. Hope that when the next chapter comes to an end we find a way to make him part of the Brentford family again. Young players need role models of what a real professional and a real man is. And that is Ethan.

Thanks for everything!

Everything everyone has stated already....and more
A shining example to all up and coming young players..
A marvelous role model, a gentleman and a true scholar.
Go well, Ethan.

Met him outside the ground in 2022 with my son and had a photo (see profile pic) I have enjoyed watching him play, seemed the calmest person on the pitch but very few got the better of him. A Bees modern legend who will always be welcomed back. Good luck Ethan

Someone should go on the Coventry forum and tell them they have got a good un!

Ethan Pinnock (Coventry City)

Just seen his goodbye message. Now that is how it's done. We all remember some of the knobends who have left and got all gobby, but it comes as absolutely no surprise that Mr Ethan Piinock behaves as his he plays: professional, smiling, and will be welcomed back whenever he returns. Top man

Ethan Pinnock (Coventry City)

What a superbly classy way to end this chapter of his association with Brentford. Wouldn’t expect anything else from the man nor Club but positively reaffirms what fantastic people we have involved.
Restores faith that there are some in the game that rise above the football stereotypes of greed, ego and narcissism.
