Unfortunately, with a succession of injury plagued seasons in various locations, that starts to become the perceived opinion. Maybe his body, or mentality, just isn’t meant for top level football?
Go away to the US or lesser Europe to rebuild. A little success could reinstall the desire. Or not.

Play abroad and rack up as much money as you can would be my advice. Days of playing for prestigious clubs over here are probably done unless one of the bigger championship sides wants him

That's exactly what would have happened. Doubt they would have even sought mitigation against any earnings from a new club. Saw on BBC website the other day that Reiss started in Arteta's first ever Arsenal team 8 years ago! He must have been seen as a real prospect then playing alongside Lacazette, Aubemeyang etc as a teenager.
