f***. so what does that mean to getting home on monday!!

i seem to be on LNER rather than EMT. Does that mean I am ok jack?

If the train problems send anyone across to the West Coast line to get home, at least you might get a free pizza delivered to your seat
About time we had this in this country (shame it's Dominos though :yuck:). I did this in China about 10 years ago, the delivery person would even get on the train and walk to your seat to deliver it.

Well presumably you are going directly back to Kings Cross on Monday ? Not EMR to St Pancras via Sheffield ?

Yeah but they know that it will be in your seat and not someone else. I had the guard come run before my stop and remind me that I was getting off at the next stop.

Taxi is best, there is a bus too

Leeds United FC

Otherwise you are looking at a good 45 mins to 1 hour stroll

Bus back to the city was very helpful last year though not the easiest to find around the back of another building, definitely not signposted for away fans and tourists...best to ask a steward.

You had to buy a ticket at one bus which had been designated as a mobile ticket office, and then join a queue for the buses. I presume a lot of people buy returns on the way out. It's possible not to realise this until you get to the front of the main queue and are asked for your ticket.

Thanks I'll need that as on the 17.15 train back

Any parking recommendations? Parking at the ground seems to be sold out.

Yes, usual to buy a return ticket on the way out. Departure point after the game is about the worst place it could be for away fans so we inevitably end up at the back of a long queue, though there did seem to be plenty of buses operating last season.

That makes sense. The reason I mentioned it was, there was nobody there advertising "buy your single tickets here" so if you just turn up and join the queue with all the return ticket holders, you can end up with no ticket and wasting your queuing time.

There’s another massive car park on Bobby Collins Way , just turn up an pay cash or card on arrival
I think it's changed this season. All parking now pre booked and paid for in advance. I believe those car parks already sold out.

Just landed at Leeds station and wondered why everyone was so fit ! It’s Leeds festival hence all the pretty ladies (and men) everywhere

Leeds (A) Sun 30th Aug 14:00 (EMR on Strike)

It's a long walk from town and not a pleasant or particularly straightforward one, not like you can break it up with decent pubs. For last season's night game we followed the phone route and almost ended up in an alleyway being used as a handy halfway-to-ground toilet by about pissed-up 30 Leeds fans.

Leeds (A) Sun 30th Aug 14:00 (EMR on Strike)

I am thinking about the White Rose shopping, it's a long walk though, about 30ish minutes.
Although parking at Asda in Beeston is also free I think during store hours so that could be an option

The Away Fans guides that I usually use haven't been updated online and it appears from this season LUFC now manage all the car parks around Elland Road and it has to be booked in advance - no cash on the day. Will have to make sure we're up there early in the morning! Pants.

There's also a scenic (long) route from Euston via Manchester for a day trip that is scheduled to get into Leeds at 12:38. Departing Leeds 17:45
£64.90 with the below split tickets:

08:18 Man Utd tourist special departed Euston on time.
44min to get from Manchester Piccadilly to Victoria (~20min walk) for the Leeds train. Let’s see what Avanti conjure up…

Man Victoria and Oxford Road were closed yesterday due to a train on fire. Hopefully it's cleared for you today.

Thanks, was blissfully unaware 🤣. Checked this morning and both National Rail & TransPennine Express claim trains are running Man Victoria - Leeds.🤞

I used to date a girl who worked at the quicksnack at Oxford Road train station for your records. Three years (length of relationship not her age)

Utter filth 🥰

Despite Avanti (Network Rail & all Train Operators) believing punctuality is the pernicious construct of the patriarchy, arrived into Piccadilly 15mins late but enough time for a re-stock in Aldi on the way to Victoria.
11:45 to Scarborough departed on time. Plenty of 🐝🐝🐝 on board

Sure you can master the teared up, wide eyed stare to get home for your child’s birthday tomorrow.

I got the 16.45 to Man Vic and have just dashed across town and am on the 18.15 to Euston.

Need to get to Winchester to the in laws, so a dash to Waterloo and then I should be able to catch the Cross Country train I was meant to get at Birmingham in Basingstoke.

Good luck!
Also had second thoughts that I’d just undermined your elaborate ruse, laying a trail of crumbs & backstory on the GPG, to stay on the 0% raz with the coatless one in Leeds. 🤣

Ha no chance, he's got plenty of better things to keep him occupied.

The half & half scarfers on the 19:15 from Man Piccadilly to Euston
When we win our 5th Premier League title and 3rd Champions League I pray that we will never be the utter embarrassment that 75% of United “fans” are.

Performed some train hopping magic and got off at Rugby, took a West Midlands train one stop back the other way to Coventry and got on the Winchester Cross Country train that I would've missed at Birmingham.

Balls of steel getting off a train that's running in the right direction for one that might go where you want in this day and age!

Hope you enforced your reservation privileges to whoever might have been occupying your seat thinking they’d lucked out 🤣
