Confirmation of TV picks allows better access to some of the cheaper Advance tickets. We're on:

Out: Chiltern Railways London Marylebone 09:02 - Birmingham Moor Street 11:05 [£12.00 Advance]
Return: West Midlands Trains Birmingham New Street 18:36 - London Euston 20:54 [£9.00 Advance]

Slower train but £21 return to Brum feels like decent value. Plenty of other slow train options London - Birmingham return around the £23 mark. Faster Avanti trains (save 15-30mins) about £39 return.

Paying £40 to go up on Friday evening and back just after 8pm on Saturday, Avanti trains both ways.
The Saturday evening "fast" trains still take 2 hours but the single was only £16 and I'm trying to earn my "Club Avanti" points.

Thank you for the heads up.

Trains booked for myself and the eldest - Her first away game. She’ll either say more or never again.

Anyone know if the North Stand rebuild is affecting the away capacity ?

Confirmed as not on UK TV, and not at risk of moving for fixture list reasons.
It's only ever 99.9% certain because some there could be mad reason we haven't thought of. But I think you are safe to book.

Arsenal got 3,000 so I don't think so

Do you think we'd take 3k this time? Saturday afternoon = no excuses

Even with the redevelopment the capacity of Villa Park is above 30,000 and so the "10% of capacity or 3,000 away allocation" still holds at 3,000 this season.
"Roughly 7,000 seats will be removed during redevelopment, reducing Villa Park's overall capacity to approximately 37,000."

Listed as a Friends & Family access fixture so STH's & Members can buy two or more tickets per account. I think this will help us take the whole 3k, here's hoping anyway

Any idead where to park
There’s next to no street parking as it’s all residential. I used to park in the car park of King Edward VI Aston School and walk across Aston Hall Park but they’ve now cottoned on and have outsourced it to JustPark so ‘normal’ match-day rates, around £20.

I’ve booked, also JustPark, a private drive a bit further away down Upper Sutton Street, across the junction with Victoria Road that the exit from the school leads you onto right by the Aston Expressway junction. It always takes 30+ minutes to get out from the school, so I thought I’d try something different!

Has anyone else got issues assigning / buying tickets for the coach? I can't seem to assign a ticket to my wife, nor can she purchase a coach ticket for herself. She is a member, but the ticketing website says she is ineligible and that sales are only open to members. I've also tried assigning the coach ticket to another adult member and get the same error. Assigning the concession ticket to my son works fine.

Any ideas? Waiting for a callback from the ticket office...

Thanks Bill.
3.5 hrs home to New Street via Castle Cary and Reading.
2 hrs drive to Worcester Parkway then 29 mins to New Street.
Will be doing the latter I think.
Not a bad shout,Worcester parkway is in the middle of nowhere but has a massive car park by the station.

Generally ‘Parkway’ is railway speak for the ‘Middle of Nowhere’. It’s a bit much though to cram it on the station signs…
