He was in the pic I saw!Bravo, however I am very disappointed he wasn’t wearing a suit and alligator-skinned boots, smoking a cigar and sipping a cognac.
He said let’s all laugh at SpursNot sure what Phil said as I’m on the tube.
I hope he said “My people. You have just witnessed greatness. This is probably your best summer…..EVER”
The window should also be judged on who didn't leave.I think this is a very good window but to say it’s our best ever is too early to say
The class of 2019 - Norgaard, Mbeumo, jansson, Jensen, pinnock and Raya have now proven to have been absolute giants of our club
I can’t see Anthony or Wilson being that. Maybe Malik and Schuster will be.
Sangare is an absolute coup of a signing and will be great for us but will he really be here in 4-5 years time if the hype is to be believed. This window seems to be based on singing this player
This window is what we needed now but still
Doesn’t beat 2019 - but time will tell
Youve missed out Janelt!I think this is a very good window but to say it’s our best ever is too early to say

That was the following summer I believeYouve missed out Janelt!
Let’s hope Romelle really kicks in at Sheffield United as he could save us a fortune next summer.I think in addition to all the great signings, there was incredible work done to get quality loans for the youngsters. Really amazing placements.
And the year before. Two years of low net spend means we could afford to have a high net spend this year. A few sell on clauses helping out as well.Did I hear right in that he said we're effectively using funds from last year (hence not selling this year) or did i imagine that?
Its also about no outgoings. Keeping the existing highly skilled players, adding further quality, is just massive.I think this is a very good window but to say it’s our best ever is too early to say

... and adding quality players who needed very little adjustment in Wilson and Anthony, plus Sangaré seems to have adjusted quickly. Its also about no outgoings. Keeping the existing highly skilled players, adding further quality, is just massive.
I think that was answered by a certain yellow fruit.Pheeeew!
I was fearing Arsenal signing or trying to sign Schade.
I wonder if we'll ever find out if they (Arse) enquired as per various rumours given Martinelli and Trossard moving on.
It seems like their recruitment was based on players from English clubs who were previously sold to clubs in other European leagues...We are so lucky compared to, say, Everton, who seemed to run their window like a panicked contestant on Supermarket Sweep.
One thing that always strikes me as impressive is just the lack of drama amd noise that goes with our player acquisitions.
@Banana alluded to what happened but can't remember on which thread or what it was.Although some teams try to play games via the media to try to instigate an auction, West Ham I am looking at you, but PG seems very happy to play hard ball and walk away. Not sure if PG returned last week to ask if they were prepared to reconsider our offer for Diouf or they cracked and came back to us. Not that important but would be interesting to know.
I think he said circumstances changed, West Ham obviously unsuccessful in getting their apparently desired £50M. So just wondered if PG saw the opportunity to re table our lower bid or if West Ham came back to the only positive offer that came anywhere close to their valuation.
I had assumed that the acquisition of Merida wasn't simply a means of encouraging foreign travel to the area? Strategic activity of this nature is no surprise to me. Smart guys at Smart Odds.Always enjoy listening to PG or MB speak as they are a great reminder of what a well run club we are and so different from nearly every other. It's also an opportunity to listen for any new snippet of information.
The one thing which particularly caught my attention was when speaking about Darwin Guagua. It has been fairly obvious but I think it's the first time I've explicitly heard the reason why MB bought Mérida. i.e. Phil said about sending Guagua out on loan was 'why ultimately Mérida was acquired'. He then spoke about their level in the Spanish leagues ...'we want to see them progress and move higher'. Thus implying he would like those sent on loan there to be playing at a better level.
I would have liked the interviewer to have followed up with 'was he specifically sent out on loan there would this be because of visa issues for Darwin?' but as has been mentioned earlier the questions weren't of a detailed probing nature. Anyway enjoyable update.
I presume he meant this. Details from Soccerbase:
