And for what it's worth in the same situation last year they did three games on Tuesday and five games on Wednesday i.e. they do not usually need to have a Thursday TV game.

Don't even have to worry about a local clash because Newcastle were drawn away.

Yep, we stopped over there during our away against the Geordies in the Championship. Nice place to kill a couple of hours if the weather is good to fair. Also they had an excellent chippy called Fisherman's Bay.

That's a good one; if you want good traditional F&C, then down the North Shields Fish Quay is the place to go, then across the road to the Low Lights Tavern for a decent pint. If you're very lucky, you'll see Sam Fender jamming with his mates in there, it's his local. If you want posher seafood, then Riley's Fish Shack on Tynemouth's King Edward's Bay beach is special.

My Sunday side went on and Easter tour there in about 93. Couple of good games of football one against the local miners club on the Sunday. The town was quite lively at night with lots of ladies walking about with very little on! We were quite enlightened early on and used to take our wives/Gf's on tour. Anyway back to the Sunday. Played the game, lost iirc, and went back to their club in town. They would not let our girlfriends or black players in! Anyway looked in - all men, smog of smoke, and they were playing Bingo! Yes Bingo! Anyway we went to the pub.
