Henderson deserves the gentle booing heā€™s getting, massively put himself ahead of the team against Liverpool going right against his supposed ā€œultimate professionalā€ persona.

A common theme with him that, the Saudi move being a case in point.

Deserved everything he got, and more.

Fair play to him though, at least he put in more effort tonight than he did at Anfield. Shame it ended in a 3-0 loss.

Extremely satisfying to watch, looking forward to Wissa experiencing even worse in December.

He plays for another team, we tried to put him off his game so our team could win because it is most agreeable when we do.

Delighted the Chelsea Pensioners took him off our hands. His new clubā€™s ā€œsupportersā€ already absolutely hate him. Should have quit on a high after Liverpool.
Posted several times last season that he was the root cause when we reverted to hoofball. Played 6-8 good games in a ~50 game season for us.

There have been some players that have got booed on their return with other clubs where I've winced a little bit but I didn't feel that with JH tonight.

I don't disagree with your assessment of his time here but don't see it as a reason not to boo him. He is playing for the other team, who cares.

That is very mild compared to what people were screaming at him at Anfield

I was just shouting GET OFF and doing a sweeping pointing gesture as loud as I could as if I could blow him off the pitch if I just shouted at him loud and angry enough

Anyone that takes triple they amount of time to leave the pitch so they can lap up the love from their previous club, when we're one goal from Europe and time running out, can f*** off.

And I'm mean anyone. However, it's only a small amount of people that would do that and they usually have an Ego.

No one said he cost us Europe. What he did was show complete contempt - whether intentionally or not - for the club and its fans that he was playing for at the time.

f*** him. If he was surprised at the reception he got tonight then Iā€™m glad.

I canā€™t comment on how heartfelt the booing directed to him was, but thought it massively helped us overall to be able to cast him as a villain, alongside the Argentinian players. Really added some salt and spice to the atmosphere. Unlike v Sunderland you could hear that ring in out across the ground for 90+ minutes, not just when we playing well

Putting aside the reception he got, absolutely astounded that he played the full 90 minutes!!! šŸ˜²
How many times did he do that for us?!
We've clearly moved on from him, and it's amazing that Chelsea need him to play a full game!!!

Just like he did every time he was subbed. No sympathy really, all part of football. He worked for us for half a season, we worked for him for a whole season. Mutually beneficial like with Konsa. Nothing else to say about him really.

Put in a better performance last night than he ever managed for us. Bruised ego seemed to spur him on. Booing and anka chants clearly registered.

I think that's it. Totally understood why we signed him when Norgaard went. But unlike Ben Mee who rolled his sleeves up and kept them rolled up, becoming a firm favourite, Henderson gave us about 3 months of work then hoped his reputation would keep him in the side.

It didn't. After being injured, he was predictable and pedestrian and showed his colours on more than one occasion mouthing off when he got subbed off. As for the Liverpool game...

Henderson is but a miniscule dot in the club's proud history. Not the big cheese he thought he deserved to be.

My career is getting closer to the final part, and I want to look back and say I won major trophies. When Chelsea came, I looked at the club and thought, ā€˜This is somewhere I can still achieve that.ā€™

Thatā€™s why I left.

But I still believe that at some point this season, Chelsea will be fighting for trophies or European football. Thatā€™s the ambition of this club.

Brentford will have their own targets and will be fighting for their position in the table. Thatā€™s football. Different clubs, different ambitions.

Brentford and Chelsea are competing for exactly the same things, and have the same ambitions you daft, mercenary *****.

Summed up very well.

I would like to add that I think after he got injured his focus was entirely on going to the World Cup not playing for Brentford and his team mates.

Said exactly the same. Thought he would be hooked at half time or at best on 60 minutes.

As an aside the lady and gentlemen trying to tell people in the West Stand not to boo or chant at Henderson can f*ck off. If you don't want to join in that's fine but don't tell others what to do.

Had a mate watching on Sky who thought the hostile reception for Hendo was superb, he's a Charlton fan and was wondering why it was so hostile. Must have come across well on Sky!

He must have a massive ego if he thinks he did enough to get a good reception.
He had one ok season with us, doing more for him by keeping him in the spotlight in a WC year than he did for us and then asked to leave.
Turns up as a player for local rivals and expects a good reception. Deluded bellend.

Am just not bothered enough about him for the vitriol. Thought some of those near me were going to have a coronary when he took a corner. He did a good enough job for a short time and left. Didnā€™t play in the WC and broke his wrist on the sidelines. Thatā€™s all the history book will say
