My career is getting closer to the final part, and I want to look back and say I won major trophies. When Chelsea came, I looked at the club and thought, ‘This is somewhere I can still achieve that.’

That’s why I left.

But I still believe that at some point this season, Chelsea will be fighting for trophies or European football. That’s the ambition of this club.

He also left because he was told we didn't see him starting as much this season but I guess he didn't want to share that. Him leaving wasn't quite the one way street he'd like to make out.

Indeed. I don’t think I’ve ever heard him speak that much at once. It’s usually a battle with vowels, teeth and consonants, until he loses.

Still shocked he played 90 mins. The 2nd goal showed why we were happy for him to move on. Dropped deep to take the ball off the CBs, we didn’t press him and were happy for him to have time on the ball fully knowing he could not hurt us. He attempted a through ball that was easily cut out, then had a casual stroll back towards his own goal and didn’t seem to even notice Thiago who he had a 20 yard head start on. If he plays regularly for them then they are going to struggle this season.

Reminded me of the oil tanker turn and jog through treacle against Wolves last season that enabled their comeback. Good riddance.

Slightly deluded. Came over to take first corner and seemed genuinely surprised by the reaction of the fans. He wrote the statement on leaving and thought he could navigate his own exit on his terms. His approach at Anfield was completed miss guided but I think he lives in a bubble and believes his own hype. I didn’t boo him, he’s an egg who lives in a different world.
